đż Saturday, April 11, 2026⨠Stay Rooted While You Write â¨
đ Scripture (KJV)
Colossians 2:6â7âAs ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faithâŚâ
Jeremiah 17:7â8âBlessed is the man that trusteth in the LORDâŚFor he shall be as a tree planted by the watersâŚâ
John 15:4âAbide in me, and I in youâŚâ
âď¸ Devotional Thought
Writing can sometimes feel like youâre pouring out constantly.
IdeasâŚWordsâŚEmotionsâŚEnergyâŚ
And if youâre not careful, you can begin to feel drained.
Thatâs why God reminds us of something so importantâ
Stay rooted.
Colossians tells us to be rooted and built up in Him.
That means your strength doesnât come from how much you writeâŚ
It comes from where you are planted.
Jeremiah paints a beautiful picture of a tree planted by the water.
Even in dry seasonsâŚEven in heatâŚEven when conditions arenât perfectâŚ
It continues to grow.
Why?
Because its roots go deep.
As a writer, your ârootsâ matter.
If you are rooted in God:
⨠Your words will carry life⨠Your message will carry truth⨠Your writing will remain steadyâeven in hard seasons
But if you try to write disconnected from HimâŚ
You may feel:
Tired.Uninspired.Overwhelmed.
John 15 reminds us to abide in Him.
Not visit Him occasionallyâŚNot seek Him only when you need inspirationâŚ
But stay connected.
Because when you are connected to HimâŚ
Your writing becomes an overflow of that relationship.
So today, donât just focus on writing more.
Focus on staying rooted.
Spend time with Him.Stay grounded in His Word.Let Him fill you first.
Because a rooted writerâŚ
writes with strength, stability, and purpose.
đż Saturday Reflection
Am I staying connected to God in my writing journey?
What does âbeing rootedâ look like for me daily?
Have I been trying to write in my own strength?
đ Prayer
Father,Thank You for being my source and my strength. Help me to stay rooted in You in every part of my life, especially in my writing. Draw me closer to You and fill me with Your truth and peace. Let my writing flow from a place of connection with You.In Jesusâ name, Amen.
