🌿 Saturday, March 28, 2026✨ Write From a Rested Heart ✨

šŸ“– Scripture (KJV)

Matthew 11:28–29ā€œCome unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me… and ye shall find rest unto your souls.ā€

Psalm 23:2–3ā€œHe maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soulā€¦ā€

Mark 6:31ā€œā€¦Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a whileā€¦ā€

āœļø Devotional Thought

As writers, it’s easy to feel like we should always be doing more.

Another chapter.Another edit.Another idea to develop.

But even in our calling, God never intended for us to run without rest.

Jesus Himself invites us to come to Him when we are weary.

Not just physically tired…but mentally and emotionally tired too.

Writing takes more than words—it takes your heart.

And when your heart is tired, your writing will begin to feel heavy.

Psalm 23 reminds us that God leads us to still places…

Places where our soul can breathe again.Places where creativity can be restored.Places where peace replaces pressure.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do as a writer…

is rest.

Not quitting. Not giving up.Just pausing in His presence.

Because when your soul is restored, your words will be too.

In Mark, Jesus told His disciples to step away and rest for a while.

Even in ministry…Even in purpose…Rest is necessary.

So today, give yourself permission to pause.

Sit with God.Reflect.Breathe.

And if you write today, let it come from a place of peace—not pressure.

Because the most powerful words are not written from exhaustion…

They are written from a heart that has been with Him.

🌿 Saturday Reflection

Am I feeling mentally or emotionally tired in my writing?

Have I taken time to truly rest in God’s presence?

What would it look like to write from peace instead of pressure?

šŸ™ Prayer

Father,Thank You for the reminder that rest is part of Your design. Help me to pause when I need to and spend time in Your presence. Restore my heart, renew my mind, and refresh my creativity. Let my writing flow from a place of peace and connection with You.In Jesus’ name, Amen.

šŸ’œ Saturday Author Encouragement

Rest is not falling behind.Rest is being restored.

And a restored heart writes with greater purpose. āœļøšŸ“–āœØ
