Zechariah 4:10“For who hath despised the day of small things?…”

Psalm 37:23“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD…”

Galatians 6:9“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap…”

✍️ Devotional Thought

It’s easy to look at your writing and feel like it’s not enough.

Not enough words written.Not enough progress made.Not enough momentum.

You may think:

“I should be further along by now.”“This is taking too long.”“I’m not doing enough.”

But God sees it differently.

Zechariah reminds us not to despise small beginnings.

That means the paragraph you wrote today… matters.The idea you captured… matters.The time you showed up… matters.

Nothing done in obedience is ever wasted.

Psalm 37 tells us that your steps are ordered by the Lord.

Not your leaps.Not your speed.Your steps.

That means even the smallest movement forward is part of God’s plan.

And Galatians reminds us—don’t grow weary.

Because the harvest doesn’t come immediately…

It comes after consistent, faithful steps.

Writing is not about doing everything at once.

It’s about doing something… again and again.

One paragraph today.Another tomorrow.A chapter next week.

And before you know it…

Those small steps become something big.

So today, release the pressure to do more than you can.

Focus on the step in front of you.

Write what you can.Do what you can.Trust God with the rest.

Because small steps taken in faith…

Lead to big purpose fulfilled.

Father,Thank You for reminding me that small steps matter. Help me to stay faithful in the little things and not become discouraged by slow progress. Guide each step I take and give me patience as I continue forward. Let everything I do be done in obedience to You.In Jesus’ name, Amen.
