đż Living Close to the Lord
Walking Daily in His Will, Not Ours
Staying Close in the Quiet
đ Key Scriptures (KJV):
âBe still, and know that I am GodâŚââ Psalm 46:10
âAnd he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.ââ Luke 5:16
đ Devotional Thought:
Weekends often bring a slower rhythm â or sometimes a busier one filled with family and responsibilities. But no matter the pace, staying close to the Lord requires intentional stillness.
Psalm 46:10 reminds us that knowing God deeply begins with being still. Not striving. Not performing. Not rushing ahead. Just resting in His presence.
Even Jesus withdrew to quiet places to pray. If the Son of God needed time alone with the Father, how much more do we?
Living in Godâs will is not about constant movement â itâs about continual connection. Stillness clears the noise so we can hear His voice more clearly.
This weekend, letâs step back. Letâs breathe. Letâs create space for God to speak.
Closeness grows in the quiet.
đ Weekend Prayer:
Lord, help me slow down and sit with You.Quiet my mind and steady my heart.Teach me to value stillness so I can hear You clearly.Draw me closer this weekend.
âď¸ Reflection Questions:
⢠When was the last time I intentionally sat in silence before the Lord?⢠What distractions keep me from quiet time with Him?⢠How can I create sacred space this weekend?
đż Weekend Challenge:
Set aside at least 10â15 uninterrupted minutes with no phone, no noise â just your Bible and prayer. Ask God one simple question:
âLord, what do You want me to understand right now?â
Then listen.
⨠Closing Encouragement:
You donât have to rush to stay in Godâs will.Sometimes the holiest thing you can do is pause.
Stillness is not inactivity âit is intimacy. đđ
