🌿 Agape Love Bible Study Thursday • August 6, 2026 Here Am I, Lord

Here Am I, Lord

Theme: Knowing the One Who Calls

Theme Verse

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."— Isaiah 6:8 (KJV)

🌅 Welcome

Good morning, dear friends!

As we've journeyed together this week, we've discovered that God created each of us with purpose, that He wastes nothing in our lives, and that we are His unique workmanship.

Today, we come to a defining moment.

The question is no longer, "Does God have a calling for my life?"

The question becomes:

"Am I willing to say yes?"

Throughout the Bible, God didn't look for perfect people.

He looked for willing hearts.

Isaiah wasn't chosen because he had all the answers.

He was chosen because he made himself available.

The greatest obstacle to God's calling is rarely our lack of ability—it is often our unwillingness to surrender.

God isn't asking us to have every detail figured out.

He is simply asking us to trust Him enough to say, "Here am I, Lord."

đź“– Scripture Reading

  • Isaiah 6:1–8

  • Exodus 3:1–12

  • Luke 1:26–38

  • Matthew 4:18–22

  • Philippians 2:13

✝️ Bible Study

Isaiah's encounter with God changed everything.

He first saw the holiness of God.

Then he recognized his own need for cleansing.

After God purified him, Isaiah heard a question that still echoes today:

"Whom shall I send?"

Notice something important.

God didn't force Isaiah.

He invited him.

Love never demands—it invites.

Calling is God's invitation for us to join Him in His work.

The same invitation is extended to us.

Perhaps God is calling you to encourage someone who feels forgotten.

Perhaps He's calling you to teach, mentor, write, pray, serve, give, or share your testimony.

Maybe He's asking you to forgive someone, start a ministry, lead a Bible study, or simply become more intentional about living your faith each day.

Many people delay obedience because they feel unqualified.

Moses said he couldn't speak well.

Jeremiah believed he was too young.

Gideon thought he was too insignificant.

Yet God reminded each of them that His strength is greater than their weakness.

God has never called anyone to serve Him alone.

He always provides the grace, strength, wisdom, and courage needed for the journey.

The question isn't whether God is calling.

The question is whether we are willing to answer.

đź’ś Reflection Questions

  • What area of my life is God asking me to surrender?

  • Is fear keeping me from saying "yes" to God's leading?

  • What opportunity has God placed before me that I have been hesitant to pursue?

  • How can I become more available for God to use me?

  • What would change if I trusted His strength more than my own?

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for calling ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things through Your power.

Thank You for patiently leading us and preparing us for the purpose You have designed for our lives.

Forgive us for the times we have allowed fear, doubt, or insecurity to keep us from following You wholeheartedly.

Today, we surrender our plans, our worries, and our excuses into Your hands.

Give us willing hearts that joyfully respond to Your voice.

Help us trust that You will equip us for whatever You ask us to do.

Use our lives to bring hope to the hurting, encouragement to the discouraged, and the love of Christ to a world that desperately needs You.

May our answer always be:

"Here am I, Lord. Send me."

In the precious name of Jesus,

Amen.

🌼 Today's Challenge

Take a quiet moment today and pray this simple prayer:

"Lord, where do You want to use me today?"

Then listen.

Pay attention to the people God places in your path.

Look for opportunities to:

  • Encourage someone with a kind word.

  • Pray with someone who is hurting.

  • Share a Scripture that has strengthened your faith.

  • Serve someone without expecting recognition.

  • Be available when God opens a door.

Sometimes our calling begins with one simple act of obedience.

🌟 Today's Encouragement

God doesn't call the most talented.

He calls those who are willing to trust Him.

Your availability is more important than your ability because God can supply everything you lack.

Never underestimate what God can do through one surrendered life.

"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure."— Philippians 2:13 (KJV)

🌿 Looking Ahead

Tomorrow we'll conclude Week 1 with a powerful reminder:

God Will Equip Those He Calls

We'll discover that God's calling always comes with His provision, His strength, and His faithfulness.

🌻 Closing Thought

Every great work of God has begun with someone willing to say, "Yes, Lord." You may not know every step ahead, but you can trust the One who is leading you. Today, offer Him your heart, your hands, and your future. The greatest adventure of your life begins with a surrendered "yes."

May your Thursday be filled with courage, peace, and the joy of walking in obedience to the One who lovingly calls you.

Have a beautifully blessed day! ✝️💜
