A thick, comforting chuckwagon stew — tender beef, rich tomato broth, and hearty macaroni that makes every bowl satisfying.

Serves:Ā 6–8Cook Time:Ā 40–45 minutes

This is one of those old homestead-style pots where soup meets pasta stew — simple ingredients that stretch far and feed everyone well.

🄩 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or beef stew meat

  • 2 tbsp butter or bacon grease

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 carrots, sliced

  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

  • 4 cups beef broth

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional: handful of shredded cheese for serving

  1. Brown the BeefIn a Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the beef until fully cooked.

  2. Build the Flavor BaseAdd onion and garlic; cook until soft and fragrant.
