🍂 “Just Carry Today”
📖 Today’s Scripture — KJV
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
— Matthew 6:34
🌿 Good Morning, Sweet Friends!
It's Monday morning.
For some, Monday means a fresh start—a new week filled with plans, appointments, work, family, and responsibilities.
But when you're grieving, sometimes Monday feels different.
You wake up and before your feet ever touch the floor, your mind is already racing.
How am I going to make it through this week?
How will I handle that appointment?
How will I face that anniversary?
How will I get through the family gathering?
How will I make it through another week without hearing their voice?
Sometimes grief makes us try to carry Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—all before we've even finished our first cup of coffee.
Friend, that's too much.
God isn't asking you to carry the whole week this morning.
Just carry today.
And when today feels too heavy, let God carry you.
💜 You Don't Need Tomorrow's Strength Today
One of the things grief taught me is how easy it is to live ahead of ourselves.
We start worrying about dates that haven't arrived yet.
Birthdays.
Anniversaries.
Thanksgiving.
Christmas.
Family gatherings.
We imagine how difficult they're going to be, and suddenly we're experiencing tomorrow's grief today.
But God gives grace when we need it.
You don't need Christmas grace this morning.
You don't need next month's strength.
You don't even need Friday's strength.
You need Monday's grace.
And God has already provided it.
Tomorrow, He will meet you again.
🌷 Some Days You May Need to Take It One Hour at a Time
There are days when saying:
“I'll make it through today”
still feels overwhelming.
On those days, make the goal smaller.
Just make it through this morning.
Then lunchtime.
Then the afternoon.
Then supper.
Then bedtime.
And if even an hour feels too big, take the next ten minutes.
Breathe.
Pray.
Drink some water.
Step outside.
Call someone.
Open your Bible.
Cry if you need to.
Then take another step.
You don't have to climb the entire mountain while standing at the bottom.
Just take the next step.
🕊️ Grief Has No Deadline
Maybe you're frustrated with yourself because you're still having difficult days.
You thought you'd be doing better by now.
Other people may even think you should be.
But grief doesn't follow our calendars.
There is no date circled on the calendar when you're required to stop missing someone.
You may have a wonderful week and then wake up Monday morning with tears.
That doesn't mean you're back at the beginning.
A difficult day does not erase your healing.
It simply means you loved someone who still matters to you.
Give yourself grace.
🍂 Don't Borrow Trouble From Tomorrow
Jesus said:
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow…”
That doesn't mean we never make plans.
It means we don't have to live under tomorrow's worries before tomorrow arrives.
Sometimes our minds ask:
“What if I can't handle the holidays?”
What if that anniversary is terrible?
What if I'm alone?
What if I start crying?
What if everyone else moves on?
Friend, what if instead we ask:
“What if God is already there?”
Because He is.
The God who helped you yesterday is already waiting in every tomorrow you fear.
💜 Look at How Many Days You Have Already Survived
Think back for a moment.
There were days you didn't think you could make it through.
But you did.
Maybe you didn't make it through gracefully.
Maybe you cried.
Maybe someone had to hold your hand.
Maybe all you could pray was:
“Jesus, help me.”
But you're here.
You survived days you once believed would break you.
Not because you were always strong.
Because God was faithful.
Sometimes when the road ahead looks frightening, we need to look behind us and remember how many times God has already carried us.
🌸 Give Yourself One Simple Goal Today
You don't need to fix your entire life this Monday.
You don't have to clean the whole house.
Answer every message.
Make every decision.
Solve every problem.
Some days, success looks different.
Maybe today's victory is:
Getting dressed.
Going to work.
Eating something healthy.
Taking a walk.
Calling a friend.
Going to an appointment.
Reading your Bible.
Making dinner.
Or simply getting through a difficult day.
Small steps still move us forward.
Don't compare your grief journey with anyone else's.
Take the step God gives you today.
✝️ Let God Carry What You Can't
Psalm 55:22 says:
“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee…”
What are you carrying this Monday?
Loneliness?
Fear?
Regret?
An upcoming anniversary?
Financial concerns?
Family responsibilities?
The approaching holidays?
Something you wish you could change?
Imagine placing it into God's hands.
And pray:
“Lord, this is too heavy for me. Please carry what I cannot.”
You may have to pray that prayer more than once today.
That's okay.
Keep giving it back to Him.
🙏 Monday Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for another Monday.
Lord, some of us are beginning this week already tired.
Our minds are thinking about tomorrow, next week, the holidays, anniversaries, and things we don't know how we'll face.
Bring us back to today.
Remind us that we don't need tomorrow's strength this morning.
Give us grace for this day.
And if today feels too difficult, give us grace for the next hour.
Help us stop carrying things You never asked us to carry alone.
When grief feels heavy, hold us.
When memories come, comfort us.
When fear whispers about tomorrow, remind us that You are already there.
Thank You for every difficult day You have already brought us through.
Thank You for never leaving us.
Thank You for Jesus.
And thank You for the hope of Heaven.
In Jesus' precious Name,
Amen.
🌻 Monday Grief Support Challenge
💜 JUST CARRY TODAY
Take a piece of paper and make two columns.
🍂 TODAY
Write down what actually needs your attention today.
Keep it simple.
🕊️ NOT TODAY
Write down everything you're worrying about that belongs to another day.
Then pray:
“Lord, I give You everything in my ‘not today’ column. Give me grace for what is in front of me right now.”
Afterward, choose one small thing that will care for your grieving heart today.
💜 Have coffee somewhere peaceful.
🌷 Take a short walk.
🕊️ Call someone you love.
📖 Spend time in God's Word.
🙏 Ask someone to pray with you.
And remember:
You don't have to carry the whole week on Monday morning.
💜 Let's Encourage One Another
If you feel comfortable, finish this sentence in the comments:
“Today, I am asking God to help me with ______.”
You don't have to share every detail.
Sometimes simply admitting:
“I need prayer today”
is enough.
And when you see someone else's request, take a moment to pray for them.
Let's remind one another that nobody has to walk through grief alone.
🤍 Need Prayer?
If this Monday feels especially heavy, we would be honored to pray with you.
Simply write:
“I need grace for today. Please pray for me.”
No long explanation is necessary.
God already knows your heart.
If grief becomes overwhelming or you are thinking about harming yourself, please reach out for immediate support.

✝️ One faithful God.
