Craft: âTrash Can Snowmanâ (Outdoor Repurpose Craft) âď¸âď¸â¨
Theme:Turning the ordinary into joy â a cheerful snowman that makes everyone smile and spreads Christmas cheer.
This is a FAVORITE because itâs inexpensive, durable, and perfect for porches and yards!
â¤ď¸ What Youâll Need:
2â3 plastic trash cans (white or light-colored work best)
Black duct tape or outdoor vinyl
Orange poster board or foam (for carrot nose)
Old scarf
Black hat (top hat, bucket, or repurposed flower pot)
Strong adhesive or zip ties
Optional:
Battery fairy lights
Stick arms (real branches or pool noodles)
Buttons (vinyl circles or painted lids)
Red berries or greenery
⨠Directions:
1. Stack the Snowman
Stack trash cans upside-down:
1 can = simple snowman
2â3 cans = full snowman body
Secure them together with zip ties or heavy-duty tape.
2. Create the Face
Use black duct tape circles or vinyl for eyes and mouth
Cut a triangle carrot nose from orange poster board and glue it on
3. Add Buttons
Use tape, vinyl circles, or paint lids black and glue them down the front.
4. Dress the Snowman
Wrap an old scarf around the âneckâ area.Add a hat on top â a black trash can lid, bucket, or flower pot works great!
5. Optional Lighting
Place battery fairy lights inside the cans so the snowman glows at night.
6. Display
Place:
On the porch
Near the front door
In the yard
Beside giant presents or oversized ornaments
They look AMAZING paired with candy cane yard decor!
âď¸ Faith Reflection:
Psalm 118:24 (KJV)âThis is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.â
This snowman reminds us to rejoice, be playful, and find joy in simple things â even during the busiest season.
