🌿 January 13 Grief Support Devotional: “Your Tears Are Not Wasted”

“Your Tears Are Not Wasted”

Scripture:

“Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”— Psalm 56:8 (KJV)

Grief brings tears that fall quietly and tears that come without warning. Some are shed in the open; others are wiped away in private moments when no one else sees. You may wonder if those tears matter—if they mean anything beyond the ache they leave behind.

God’s Word tells us they do.

Every tear you shed is seen, counted, and treasured by God. None of them are wasted. Each tear carries a story of love, loss, longing, and faith. God gathers them not as reminders of pain, but as proof of a heart that loved deeply.

Your tears do not mean you are weak. They mean you cared. They mean you are human. They mean you are healing in honest ways.

God records every moment of your grief—not to keep you bound to sorrow, but to assure you that He walks every step with you. He knows where you’ve been, what you’ve endured, and how much it costs you to keep moving forward.

Today, let your tears fall without shame.Let God hold them with compassion.Let Him remind you that healing often flows through tears—and hope rises quietly afterward.

You are not overlooked. You are not forgotten. And your tears are never wasted.

💛 Prayer:

Lord,Thank You for seeing every tear I shed. Help me trust that my grief is not unnoticed and that You are walking with me through every moment. Comfort my heart today, catch my tears in Your loving care, and remind me that healing and hope are still unfolding. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
