š January Bible Study ā New Beginnings in Christ Day 12 ā January 12th, 2026: Leaving the Old Behind
šļø Key Scripture (KJV):āTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.āā 2 Corinthians 5:17
š Devotional Thought:
One of the greatest challenges of moving forward is learning to truly leave the old behind.
Even after God has forgiven us, healed us, or delivered us, we sometimes continue to carry old labels, old shame, or old mindsets into a new season. But Scripture reminds us of a powerful truth: in Christ, we are made new.
Being a new creature doesnāt mean our past never existedāit means it no longer has authority over us. God does not define us by where weāve been, but by who we are becoming in Him.
January 12th invites us to examine what we may still be holding onto that God has already released. Old habits, old fears, old wounds, or even old expectations can quietly pull us backward if weāre not careful.
God is doing a new work in youānot tomorrow, not someday, but now.
Walking into the future Jesus has for you requires faith to believe that what God says about you is truer than anything from your past.
You are forgiven. You are renewed. You are chosen. You are moving forward.
š Daily Bible Reading ā January 12th:Genesis 27ā28(A reminder that Godās purposes continue even through imperfect people and difficult pasts.)
š Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me fully embrace the new life I have in You.Show me anything from my past that I need to release today.Teach me to walk forward in freedom, trusting the new work You are doing in my life.
āļø Reflection Questions:
⢠What āold thingsā might I still be carrying that God wants me to release?⢠How does knowing I am a new creation change how I see my future?⢠What step can I take today to live more fully in the newness God has given me?
⨠Encouragement for Today
Your past has been redeemed.Your future is being prepared. And in Christāall things are becoming new.Ā š
