šŸ“– The True Meaning of Christmas — December Bible StudyDay 22

December 22nd: Remembering the Price of LovešŸ“– Luke Chapter 22

šŸ•Šļø Key Scripture (KJV):ā€œAnd he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.ā€ā€” Luke 22:19

šŸ“š Devotional Thought:

Luke 22 brings us to a sacred and sobering place—the Last SupperĀ and the beginning of Jesus’ journey to the cross. As Christmas draws very near, this chapter gently reminds us that the baby born in Bethlehem came with a purpose far greater than a manger.

Jesus knew what was ahead. He knew betrayal was coming. He knew suffering awaited Him.Yet He still gave thanks. He still broke bread. He still loved fully.

Christmas is not only about Christ’s arrival—it is about His sacrifice.

At the table with His disciples, Jesus institutes communion, asking them—and us—to remember Him. Not just His miracles. Not just His teachings. But His body given and His blood poured out for the forgiveness of sins.

Luke 22 also shows us the humanity of Jesus. He prays in the garden with anguish, yet surrenders completely:ā€œNot my will, but thine, be done.ā€

This is love beyond measure.

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas Day, Luke 22 invites us to reflect deeply on the cost of our salvation. Jesus came because He loved us—and that love carried Him all the way to the cross.

Christmas shines brighter when we remember that the cradle leads to the cross… and the cross leads to eternal life.

šŸŽ„ Christmas Reflection: Communion at Christmas

Many believers take communion during the Christmas season as a reminder that Jesus’ birth and His sacrifice are inseparable. The bread and the cup remind us that love was not just spoken—it was given.

Luke 22 calls us to remember, to be grateful, and to worship with humble hearts.

šŸ™ Prayer Prompt:

Lord, thank You for the depth of Your love and the price You paid for my salvation. As I prepare to celebrate Your birth, help me never forget Your sacrifice.Teach me to live in gratitude, obedience, and remembrance of all You have done for me.

āœļø Reflection Questions:

• How does remembering the cross deepen my appreciation for Christmas?• What does Jesus’ surrender teach me about obedience and trust?• How can I honor Christ’s sacrifice in the way I live this season?
