🎃 Thrifted Finds → Beautiful Pumpkin Trio Centerpiece

Happy October, crafting friends! 💜🍂

We made it to OCTOBER!

There's just something wonderful about this time of year—the cooler mornings, changing leaves, warm drinks, cozy homes, beautiful harvest colors, and all the little reminders to slow down and enjoy the season.

So we're kicking off October with a FUN fall project!

And don't worry—around here, our fall crafts are about harvest, home, family, gratitude, and God's beautiful creation. 🌻🍎🌾

Today we're taking ordinary thrifted finds and inexpensive craft-store supplies and creating a beautiful Pumpkin Trio Centerpiece!

No expensive decorating required!

🛒 WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Start by hunting for three different bases.

Look for:

🕯️ Old candlesticks🫙 Jars🪵 Wooden pedestals🍰 Small cake stands🏺 Old vases🪑 Salvaged furniture feet♻️ Anything sturdy enough to become a base!

Then gather:

🎃 Three plain harvest pumpkins in different sizes🌿 Fall greenery🍂 Autumn leaves🌾 Wheat stems🍒 Berry picks🌻 Small sunflowers🎀 Burlap, gingham, plaid, or lace ribbon🧶 Jute twine🔥 Hot glue & glue sticks🪵 Small wooden sign — optional🪵 Tray, charger, or wooden crate — optional

💜 SHOP YOUR HOUSE FIRST!

Before buying anything, look through your fall decorations and craft supplies.

You may already have almost everything you need!

🔨 STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS

1️⃣ FIND THREE HIDDEN GEMS

Head to your thrift store, yard sale, estate sale, flea market—or your own cabinets!

Look for three items that can become pedestals.

They don't have to match.

Actually...

IT'S MORE FUN IF THEY DON'T! 😍

Choose different heights so your finished display has dimension.

Clean everything thoroughly.

2️⃣ GIVE THEM A MAKEOVER

If you love the original finish, leave it!

Otherwise, paint your bases:

🤍 Antique White🌿 Sage Green🤎 Warm Wood💜 Dusty Lavender🖤 Farmhouse Black

Mixing wood and painted pieces can make the arrangement even more interesting.

3️⃣ ADD YOUR HARVEST PUMPKINS 🎃

Place one plain decorative pumpkin on each pedestal.

Try different colors:

🧡 Traditional Orange

🤍 Cream

🌿 Muted Sage

🤎 Warm Tan

You don't need faces, carvings, or anything Halloween-related.

We're simply celebrating the beauty of the autumn harvest season.

4️⃣ ADD GREENERY & FALL TEXTURES

Now tuck greenery around the base of each pumpkin.

Add:

🌾 Wheat

🌻 Sunflowers

🍂 Autumn leaves

🍒 Berries

🌿 Eucalyptus

🌰 Pinecones

Let some of the greenery trail gently down the pedestal.

That's what gives our project that cozy cottage look!

5️⃣ ADD A BEAUTIFUL BOW 🎀

Tie ribbon around the pumpkin stem or pedestal.

Try layering:

🤎 Burlap

🧡 Autumn gingham

🤍 Cream lace

🌿 Muted green ribbon

Add a little jute twine for extra texture.

You don't need a huge bow.

Sometimes a simple little knot of ribbon is perfect.

6️⃣ BRING ALL THREE TOGETHER

Place your three finished pumpkin pedestals on:

🪵 Wooden tray

🍽️ Large charger

🧺 Shallow basket

🪵 Old crate

🏡 Table runner

Arrange them from tallest to shortest.

Fill in the spaces with a few leaves, pinecones, greenery, or sunflowers.

Then add a little sign:

💜 GRATEFUL • THANKFUL • BLESSED

And you're finished!

You just created a gorgeous autumn centerpiece using items that could have easily been overlooked.

💡 BONUS IDEA — USE REAL THRIFTED TREASURES!

Here's where today's project can get REALLY fun.

Instead of buying new candlesticks, challenge yourself to find unusual bases.

What about:

☕ An upside-down vintage mug

🪵 Old wooden furniture legs

🏺 Small pottery pieces

🫙 Mason jars

🥣 Upside-down wooden bowls

🕯️ Mismatched candlesticks

🍰 Mini cake stands

Look at things differently!

Ask yourself:

🌻 TODAY'S INSPIRATION

As we begin a brand-new month, I think today's craft is a wonderful reminder to look for possibilities.

Sometimes we look at what we have and think:

“It's not enough.”

But creativity teaches us to look again.

An old candlestick can become a pedestal.

A forgotten ribbon can become a bow.

A leftover flower can become part of something beautiful.

And I think gratitude works much the same way.

When we stop focusing on what we're missing and begin looking at what God has already placed around us, we often realize just how blessed we truly are.

A new month doesn't mean we need everything figured out.

Maybe October simply begins with saying:

“Lord, thank You for what You've already given me, and help me use it well.” 💜
