Thrifted Tiered Tray → Cozy Fall Vignette
Happy Friday, crafting friends! 🍂🌻
Today we're creating something FUN because there really aren't any rules!
We're taking a thrifted tiered tray and filling it with little treasures to create a beautiful cozy fall display.
And here's what I especially love about this project:
YOUR TRAY DOESN'T HAVE TO LOOK LIKE MINE!
Maybe you'll find a tiny pitcher at a thrift store.
Maybe you have an old wooden birdhouse.
Maybe Dollar Tree has the perfect little sign.
Maybe you've got leftover flowers from another project.
Or maybe there's something sitting in your kitchen cabinet that would look adorable tucked into your display!
That's what Thrifted Gems & Creative Dreams is all about—finding possibilities in everyday things. 💜
🛒 WHAT YOU'LL NEED
🍽️ Tiered tray — thrifted, repurposed, or one you already own🎃 Small plain harvest pumpkins🌻 Sunflowers or fall florals🌿 Greenery🍂 Autumn leaves🍒 Berry stems🪵 Small wooden signs🏡 Mini birdhouse or other small thrifted treasures🌰 Pinecones or acorns🎀 Burlap, gingham, or plaid ribbon🧶 Jute twine🕯️ Battery-operated candle — optional
💡 DON'T HAVE A TIERED TRAY?
MAKE ONE!
Look for:
🍽️ Two thrifted plates🥣 Old pie pans🪵 Wooden rounds🕯️ A sturdy candlestick
Stack a smaller piece above a larger one using a sturdy center support and suitable adhesive or hardware.
Suddenly, two inexpensive thrift-store finds can become a beautiful tiered display!
🔨 LET'S CREATE!
1️⃣ FIND YOUR TRAY
Start with a tiered tray you already own or hunt for one at a thrift store, yard sale, or estate sale.
Don't worry about the color!
You can leave it natural or give it a little makeover.
Try antique white, warm wood, sage green, or farmhouse black.
2️⃣ CREATE YOUR BASE
Start with greenery and autumn leaves.
Let some pieces trail slightly over the edges.
Don't fill every empty space yet!
We're going to build our display in layers.
3️⃣ ADD YOUR THRIFTED GEMS
Now comes the FUN part! 😍
Search around your home or thrift store for little treasures.
Try:
🏡 Mini birdhouse
☕ Tiny mug
🏺 Small pitcher
🫙 Little jar
🪵 Wooden blocks
📚 Tiny books
🧺 Mini basket
🕯️ Flameless candle
🍎 Faux apples
🎃 Plain pumpkins
🌻 Sunflowers
Mix new items with thrifted treasures.
That's what makes the display uniquely YOURS!
4️⃣ ADD A MESSAGE
Tuck in a little wooden sign.
Try:
💜 Grateful • Thankful • Blessed
🌻 Harvest Blessings
🍂 Hello Fall
🙏 Give Thanks
🏡 Bless This Home
Or add your favorite Scripture!
5️⃣ ADD THE FINISHING TOUCHES
Tie a little gingham, burlap, or plaid bow.
Add jute twine.
Tuck in a few pinecones.
Move things around.
Stand back.
Move them again. 😂
And keep playing with it until YOU love it!
There is no wrong way to decorate your tray.

Today's craft is really about bringing lots of little things together.
Individually, they may not seem like much.
A little pumpkin.
A piece of ribbon.
An old birdhouse.
A sprig of greenery.
A thrifted tray.
But put them together, and suddenly we've created something beautiful.
Sometimes I think our blessings are like that too.
We can become so focused on waiting for the BIG blessing that we overlook all the little gifts God has already placed around us.
A morning cup of coffee.
Someone who calls just to check on us.
Food on the table.
A safe place to sleep.
A church family.
A prayer answered in a way we didn't expect.
Another morning to wake up and say, “Thank You, Lord.”
Sometimes when we gather all those little blessings together, we realize...
They weren't little at all. 💜
