🗄️ Old Drawer → Cozy Cottage Fall Display
Happy Saturday, crafting friends! 💜🍁
Today's project is exactly what thrifting and repurposing are all about!
Have you ever spotted an old dresser drawer sitting by itself at a yard sale, estate sale, or thrift store and wondered, "What in the world would I do with THAT?"
Well… don't walk past it! 😂
We're turning that lonely old drawer into a beautiful Cozy Cottage Fall Display that can sit on your porch, hearth, entry table, or dining room buffet.
And we're going to keep as much of it thrifted, repurposed, and inexpensive as possible!
🛍️ LET'S GO TREASURE HUNTING!
Look for:
🗄️ An old wooden drawer🪵 Wooden knobs or handles🫙 Mason jars or vintage bottles📚 Old books🌻 Faux sunflowers🍂 Fall leaves🎃 Mini pumpkins🌾 Wheat or dried grasses🕯️ Flameless candle🎀 Lace, burlap, plaid, or gingham ribbon🏷️ Small thrifted frame or wooden sign
Don't worry about scratches or chipped paint!
Those little imperfections are exactly what give cottage décor its charm. 💜
🎨 STEP 1 — GIVE THAT DRAWER A SECOND CHANCE
Clean your drawer well and decide whether you want to keep its original finish.
If it's beautifully aged—leave it!
Or try:
🤍 Antique white🌿 Sage green🩵 Dusty blue🤎 Natural wood stain💜 Soft lavender
Lightly distress the edges afterward for that wonderful loved-for-years cottage look.
🌻 STEP 2 — BUILD YOUR FALL DISPLAY
Now turn your drawer upright or leave it flat like a tray.
Start layering your treasures.
Place a couple of old books underneath a Mason jar to create height.
Fill the jar with sunflowers, wheat, eucalyptus, or fall leaves.
Then tuck little pumpkins, pinecones, and acorns around the bottom.
Don't make it too perfect!
Cozy cottage decorating should feel like beautiful treasures were collected over time. 🏡
🕯️ STEP 3 — ADD SOMETHING COZY
Add a flameless candle or small lantern.
Then bring in some texture with:

Instead of gluing all your decorations into the drawer, arrange them so they can be removed.
Why?
Because when fall is over, the SAME drawer can become:
🎄 A Christmas village display🌷 A spring garden centerpiece🇺🇸 A patriotic summer arrangement🌻 A sunflower display🙏 A prayer station
One old drawer can become something new for every season!
