🌼 DIY Pressed Flower Lanterns

🌸 Capture the beauty of summer before it fades!
Today's craft is simple, affordable, and absolutely beautiful. Create Pressed Flower Lanterns using flowers from your garden, wildflowers from a nature walk, or blooms you've saved from a special occasion. These lanterns add a soft, cozy glow to your porch, patio, or dining table and make wonderful handmade gifts.
🧺 Supplies You'll Need
🫙 Mason jars or recycled glass jars
🌸 Pressed flowers and leaves
🖌️ Mod Podge or clear craft glue
🖍️ Foam brush
✨ Battery-operated fairy lights or tea lights
🎀 Twine, lace, or ribbon
🏷️ Wooden tags (optional)
🌿 Step 1 – Press Your Flowers
Use flowers like:
🌼 Daisies
💜 Lavender
🌸 Pansies
🌿 Ferns
🌻 Black-eyed Susans
Place them between the pages of a heavy book for about a week, or use a flower press if you have one.
🫙 Step 2 – Decorate the Jar
Brush a thin coat of Mod Podge onto the outside of the jar.
Carefully place your pressed flowers on the glass.
Seal them with another light coat of Mod Podge and allow them to dry completely.
🎀 Step 3 – Add Finishing Touches
Wrap the top of the jar with:
🤎 Twine
🤍 Lace
🌿 Eucalyptus
💜 Lavender sprigs
Tie on a small tag with a word like:
✨ Hope
💜 Faith
🌸 Bloom
❤️ Love
✨ Step 4 – Light It Up
Place battery fairy lights or a flameless tea light inside your jar.
As evening falls, your lantern will cast a warm glow that beautifully highlights the pressed flowers.
🌻 Fun Ways to Use Your Lantern
🏡 Front Porch
🍽️ Dining Table Centerpiece
🌿 Garden Party Décor
🎁 Handmade Gift
💒 Wedding or Bridal Shower Décor
🛏️ Bedroom Accent
💰 Budget Tip
Instead of buying flowers, collect blooms from your own garden or ask friends and family if you can gather a few after they prune their flower beds. Recycled pasta sauce jars and pickle jars work perfectly for this project, too!
💜 Thrifted Treasures Inspiration
