Good morning, crafting friends! 💜
Who's ready for another Dollar Store transformation?
Today's project begins in an aisle you might NEVER think to visit when looking for craft supplies...
🍕 THE KITCHEN AISLE!
We're taking an inexpensive metal pizza pan and transforming it into a beautiful Cozy Cottage Fall Door Hanger!
This is one of those projects where people may ask:
"You made THAT from a pizza pan?!" 😍
Let's get crafting!
🛒 WHAT YOU'LL NEED
🍕 Dollar store pizza pan🎨 Chalk or acrylic paint🧽 Small sponge or paintbrush🌻 Faux sunflowers🍂 Fall leaves🌿 Greenery🌾 Wheat or fall floral picks🎀 Burlap, plaid, gingham, or lace ribbon🪵 Wooden letters or small wooden sign🧵 Jute twine🖌️ Hot glue gun✂️ Scissors🎃 Optional mini pumpkin🧡 Optional scrapbook paper or fall napkin
SHOP YOUR CRAFT STASH FIRST!
You may already have ribbon, paint, florals, or greenery left over from another project.
🎨 STEP 1 — TRANSFORM THAT PIZZA PAN!
Clean and dry your pizza pan.
Paint the front with your favorite cottage-inspired color.
Try:
🤍 Antique White🌿 Sage Green🧡 Burnt Orange🤎 Warm Taupe💜 Muted Lavender
You may need more than one coat.
Allow each coat to dry completely.
🧽 STEP 2 — GIVE IT SOME AGE
We DON'T want our pizza pan looking like a brand-new pizza pan anymore! 😂
Using a nearly dry brush or sponge, lightly dab brown or gray paint around the edges.
You can also lightly brush across the surface.
The goal is to create the appearance of an old farmhouse sign.
Less is more!
Add a little, stand back, and then decide whether it needs more.
🏷️ STEP 3 — ADD YOUR FALL MESSAGE
Now let's turn it into a sign!
Add wooden letters, vinyl, stickers, or hand-painted lettering.
Try:
🍂 Hello Fall
🌻 Harvest Blessings
🙏 Thankful & Blessed
🏡 Welcome Home
🎃 Pumpkin Patch
💜 Gather With Grateful Hearts

🌻 HARVEST BLESSINGS
🌻 STEP 4 — CREATE YOUR FALL FLORAL SWAG
Gather a small bundle of:
🌻 Sunflowers🍂 Fall leaves🌿 Greenery🌾 Wheat🍒 Berry picks
Layer your greenery first.
Add your largest flower next.
Then tuck the smaller leaves, berries, and wheat around it.
Secure the bundle together with floral wire or twine.
🎀 STEP 5 — MAKE A BIG COTTAGE BOW!
Now for my favorite part!
Layer two or three ribbons:
🤎 Burlap🖤 Buffalo Check🧡 Fall Plaid🤍 Lace🌻 Sunflower Ribbon
Tie your bow and attach it underneath your floral bundle.
Let those ribbon tails hang down naturally.
🍂 STEP 6 — DECORATE YOUR PAN
Attach the floral bundle and bow near the top or bottom of your pizza pan.
For a little extra personality, add:
🎃 Tiny pumpkin🌰 Acorns🌲 Pinecone🪵 Wooden bead🧡 Raffia
But remember...
DON'T COVER YOUR BEAUTIFUL SIGN!
🧵 STEP 7 — CREATE THE HANGER
Attach sturdy jute twine or ribbon securely to the back.
Make sure everything is firmly attached before hanging.

💡 BONUS IDEA — TRY DECOUPAGE!
Don't want to paint a design?
Find a pretty fall napkin or inexpensive fall scrapbook paper.
Separate the decorative layer if using a napkin and decoupage it onto the center of the pan.

You could make several completely different signs using the SAME basic idea!

Pick up several inexpensive pans and let everyone design their own.
The kids might create pumpkins or scarecrows.
Mom might make a cottage welcome sign.
Grandma might create a sunflower design.
Then hang everyone's creations together for a fun family fall display!
