📖 A Thankful Heart – 30 Days of Gratitude Before GodDay 18 – November 18th: Thankful for God’s Comfort
🕊️ Key Scripture (KJV):“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;Who comforteth us in all our tribulation…”— 2 Corinthians 1:3–4
📚 Devotional Thought:Today, I am thankful for God’s comfort—the healing warmth of His presence that holds us when life feels too heavy to bear. There is no pain too deep, no sorrow too great, and no burden too overwhelming that God cannot comfort His children through it.
His comfort isn’t just a feeling—it is His very presence wrapping around us like a blanket during the coldest nights of the soul. There are moments in life when words fail, when human strength isn’t enough, and when grief or fear seems to crush the heart. But in those moments, God draws near. He whispers peace when the world is loud. He restores hope when tears won’t stop. He carries us when we cannot carry ourselves.
Sometimes His comfort comes through Scripture. Sometimes through the prayers of others. Sometimes in the quiet stillness when we feel Him close. And sometimes through the beautiful memories He allows us to treasure until we see our loved ones again.
Every time God has comforted us, it has strengthened our faith and reminded us that we are never alone. His comfort doesn’t remove the pain immediately, but it gives us the strength to keep going, the courage to heal, and the assurance that He is working even in our heartache.
Today, thank Him for every moment He has held you, every tear He has wiped away, and every breath of peace He has breathed into your spirit.
🙏 Prayer Prompt:Lord, thank You for being the God of all comfort. Thank You for holding me in the hardest seasons and reminding me that I am never alone. Wrap Your arms around my heart today and help me share that same comfort with others who are hurting.
✍️ Reflection Questions:• When has God comforted me in a way I will never forget?• What pain or burden do I need to lay at His feet today?• Who in my life needs encouragement and comfort that I can offer?
