A Fresh Week and a Faithful Step Forward

Scripture:

Psalm 37:23 (KJV)

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way."

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)

"...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)

"A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps."

A new week has begun.

Another Monday.

Another opportunity to continue the story God has placed within your heart.

And sometimes, as authors, we become overwhelmed because we think we need to have the entire journey figured out.

We want to know how the story ends.

How the book will be received.

What opportunities lie ahead.

And exactly how God is going to fulfill the dreams He has placed within us.

But God rarely reveals the whole journey at once.

Instead, He leads us one step at a time.

One page at a time.

One chapter at a time.

Psalm 37 reminds us that our steps are ordered by the Lord.

Not our leaps.

Not our shortcuts.

Our steps.

Sometimes we become discouraged because progress seems slower than we expected.

But slow progress is still progress.

Faithfulness is still success.

And obedience is never wasted.

Paul reminds us to leave yesterday behind.

Whether last week was productive or disappointing, it is over.

God's mercies are new.

His grace is sufficient.

And His plans for your life have not changed.

You do not have to write the entire book today.

You simply need to take the next faithful step.

Capture the next idea.

Write the next paragraph.

Pray over the next chapter.

And trust God with the pages you cannot yet see.

Because while you may not know exactly where the journey is leading, the Author of your story does.

And He has never failed.

So begin this week with hope.

Begin it with faith.

And begin it with the confidence that God is directing your steps.

💜 What faithful step can I take today?

💜 Have I allowed discouragement to replace hope?

💜 What do I need to leave behind from last week?

💜 How can I trust God more fully with the process?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of a new week and a fresh beginning. Help me not to become overwhelmed by the future or discouraged by the past. Teach me to trust You one step at a time and to faithfully use the gifts You have given me. Guide my thoughts, inspire my words, and establish the work of my hands for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
