Proverbs 18:21“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

Isaiah 55:11“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void…”

Ephesians 4:29“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying…”

✍️ Devotional Thought

Sometimes writers underestimate the power of their words.

We think:

“It’s just a story.”“It’s just a devotional.”“It’s only a few pages.”

But words carry power.

Power to encourage.Power to heal.Power to inspire someone to keep going.

Proverbs reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue.

That means the words you write matter deeply.

Isaiah reminds us that God’s Word never returns void.

And when you write from a place of faith, honesty, and purpose…

God can use your words in ways you may never fully see.

A single sentence may encourage someone through grief.A testimony may restore hope.A story may point someone back to Jesus.

Ephesians reminds us to use our words to build others up.

That is one of the greatest callings of a Christian writer—

To create words that bring light instead of darkness.

So today, write with intention.

Write with compassion.Write with honesty.Write knowing that your words may reach someone exactly when they need them most.

You may never fully know the impact of what you write…

But God does.

And He can use even the smallest message for something eternal.
