Agape Love Blog – Friday, August 22, 2025The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength

Good morning, beloved!

Fridays often bring a sigh of relief, but also a reminder that true rest doesn’t come from weekends alone—it comes from the Lord. When we’re weary, His joy becomes our strength and His presence our peace.

✝️ Verse of the Day“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)

The world offers temporary happiness, but God offers lasting joy that carries us through every season.

Joy isn’t found in circumstances but in Christ.

On This Day in History – August 22

  • 1485 – The Battle of Bosworth Field ended the Wars of the Roses, reminding us that earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but God’s Kingdom endures forever.

  • 1902 – President Theodore Roosevelt became the first U.S. president to ride in an automobile, a picture of how innovation can move us forward.

National Days – August 22

  • National Be an Angel Day – A call to show kindness and compassion, just as Christ has shown us.

  • National Tooth Fairy Day – A lighthearted reminder to find joy in life’s small moments.

  • National Bao Day – Celebrate with a delicious steamed bun if you have the chance!

Friday Reflection: Joy Beyond Circumstances

Happiness depends on what happens around us, but joy is rooted in Christ within us. When we lean on Him, even trials can’t steal our joy. His joy strengthens us to endure, to serve, and to shine His light.

Joy doesn’t remove the storm, but it steadies us through it.

Friday Prayer:Lord, thank You for the joy that comes from knowing You. Help me to find strength not in my circumstances but in Your presence. May my life reflect the joy of Christ to everyone I meet today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Challenge:Do one act of kindness today—big or small—that will bring joy to someone else. Be an angel of encouragement.

As you step into this Friday, may your heart be strengthened by His joy, your steps lightened by His peace, and your spirit refreshed for the days ahead.

With joy and love,Sarah M. SkaggsAgape Love Ministry“The joy of the Lord never runs dry—it is a well that strengthens the soul.”
