🌾 Agape Love Daily Chuckwagon Recipe – February 20
🥔 Smoky Sausage, Potato & Corn Camp Soup
A rich, hearty soup — smoky sausage, tender potatoes, and sweet corn in a comforting broth.
Serves: 6–8Cook Time: 40–45 minutes
This one is cozy and satisfying — simple ingredients that come together beautifully in one pot.
🥓 Ingredients
1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
2 tbsp butter or bacon grease
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 medium potatoes, diced
1½ cups corn (fresh, frozen, or canned)
4 cups chicken broth
1 cup milk or half-and-half
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
Optional: pinch of thyme
🍳 Instructions
Brown the SausageIn a Dutch oven, brown sausage slices. Remove and set aside.
Build the BaseIn the same pot, melt butter if needed. Add onion and garlic; cook until fragrant.
Add Potatoes & BrothStir in potatoes and broth. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20–25 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
Finish the SoupAdd sausage back to the pot along with corn, milk, paprika, pepper, and salt.
Warm & ServeSimmer gently 5–8 minutes (do not boil after adding milk).Serve hot with cornbread or biscuits.
