"God Is Still Writing Your Story"

Scripture (KJV)

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."— Jeremiah 29:11

🌿 Devotional Thought

When we lose someone we love, it can feel as though part of our own story has ended.

The chapters we shared with them are precious, and sometimes we find ourselves wishing we could stay on those pages forever.

We revisit old photographs.

We replay treasured conversations.

We remember birthdays, holidays, family dinners, and the countless ordinary moments that now seem extraordinary.

Those memories are a gift from God.

But while it is good to look back with gratitude, God gently reminds us that our story is not over.

Jeremiah 29:11 is a promise that God has thoughts of peace toward His children. Even when we cannot see the next chapter, the Author of our lives already knows how the story unfolds.

Grief may have changed your life, but it has not changed God's purpose for your life.

There are still people who need your encouragement.

There are still prayers only you can pray.

There are still acts of kindness only you can offer.

There are still opportunities to reflect Christ's love because of what you have walked through.

Your loved one helped shape the person you are today.

Their influence continues every time you extend grace, choose forgiveness, encourage someone who is hurting, or share the hope you have found in Christ.

One day, the final chapter of this earthly life will close for each of us.

Until then, God continues to write a beautiful story of redemption, healing, faith, and hope.

Trust Him with today's page.

He has never failed you before.

And He will not begin now.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being the Author of our lives. When grief makes us long for the chapters that have passed, help us trust You with the pages still to come. Fill our hearts with courage to keep moving forward, faith to believe that You are still working, and hope that rests in Your eternal promises. Thank You for the gift of the people we have loved and for the assurance that, through Christ, this is not the end of the story. Guide our steps and use our lives to bring comfort and hope to others.

In Jesus' precious Name,

Amen.

🌸 Reflection for Today

What is one way you can honor your loved one's legacy today?

Perhaps by encouraging someone who is hurting...

Sharing a favorite memory...

Helping a neighbor...

Or simply thanking God for the gift of their life.

Your story did not end when your heart was broken. God is still writing every page with love, grace, and purpose. Though grief may always be part of your journey, it does not define your future. The Lord who carried you yesterday is walking with you today and preparing your tomorrow. Hold tightly to His promises, cherish the memories of those you love, and keep your eyes on the hope of Heaven—where every story finds its perfect ending in the presence of Jesus Christ. 🌿💜🕊️✨
