"Peace for the Heavy Days"

Scripture (KJV)

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."— John 14:27

Devotional Thought

Some days are heavier than others.

Some mornings begin with tears.

Some evenings end with memories that seem especially close.

And sometimes, there is no explanation for why your heart feels so heavy.

Grief is like that.

It comes in waves.

And even after time has passed, certain moments can still catch us by surprise.

But in the midst of those difficult days, Jesus offers us a beautiful promise:

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you."

Not the temporary peace the world offers.

Not a peace based on circumstances.

But His peace.

A peace that remains even when our hearts are hurting.

A peace that steadies us when emotions are overwhelming.

A peace that reminds us we are never alone.

Friend, God does not ask you to pretend you are not hurting.

He does not expect you to hide your tears.

Instead, He invites you to bring your troubled heart to Him.

And there, in His presence, you will find comfort.

You will find strength.

And you will discover that even on the heaviest days, His peace is enough.

So if today feels difficult, take a deep breath.

Rest in His promises.

And remember that the Prince of Peace is walking beside you.

Prayer

Lord,

Thank You for the peace that only You can give. When grief feels heavy and our hearts are troubled, help us rest in Your presence. Calm our fears, strengthen our faith, and remind us that we are never alone. Thank You for being our refuge and our peace in every season.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.
