📖 Scripture (KJV)

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”— Matthew 5:4

🌿 Devotional Thought

One of the lies grieving hearts sometimes believe is that eventually we should stop missing the people we love.

But love does not work that way.

You do not stop missing someone simply because time has passed.

You do not stop loving them because the calendar has changed.

And you do not have to apologize for the tears that still come.

Jesus Himself said:

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”

He did not say,

"Blessed are those who quickly get over it."

He did not say,

"Blessed are those who never cry."

He simply said:

“Blessed are they that mourn.”

Because mourning is a reflection of love.

Missing them does not mean your faith is weak.

Missing them does not mean you are stuck.

Missing them means they mattered.

It means they were deeply loved.

And love leaves an imprint on our hearts that time cannot erase.

So today, if memories come…

Smile when you can.

Cry when you need to.

Speak their name.

Share their stories.

And know that God understands every emotion you carry.

He is not asking you to stop loving.

He is simply promising to bring comfort as you continue carrying that love forward.

🤍 Prayer

Lord,

Thank You for understanding the pain of missing those we love. Help us never feel ashamed of our tears or our memories. Bring comfort to our hearts and remind us that You are near to the brokenhearted. Thank You for the gift of love that continues long after separation.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.
