"One Step at a Time with God"

Scripture (KJV)

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way."— Psalm 37:23

🌿 Devotional Thought

Grief often makes us look too far ahead.

We wonder how we'll face the next holiday.

The next birthday.

The next anniversary.

The next family gathering.

The next season without the one we love.

When we focus on all the tomorrows, our hearts can become overwhelmed.

But God rarely asks us to carry tomorrow.

He simply asks us to trust Him today.

Psalm 37 tells us that "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord."

Notice it says steps—not leaps.

God guides us one step at a time.

One prayer at a time.

One sunrise at a time.

One act of faith at a time.

Some days your step may feel strong.

Other days it may be slow and uncertain.

There may even be days when all you can do is whisper, "Lord, help me."

That is enough.

God is not measuring the size of your steps.

He delights in the fact that you are still walking with Him.

The beautiful thing about following Christ is that we never walk alone.

The Lord goes before us to prepare the way.

He walks beside us to strengthen us.

And when we become too weary to continue, He lovingly carries us until we are able to stand again.

Friend, don't let tomorrow steal today's peace.

Trust God with this moment.

Take the next step.

Then trust Him with the one after that.

Before you know it, you'll look back and realize that every step—even the difficult ones—was held securely in His loving hands.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for walking beside us through every season of grief. When the road feels long and our hearts become weary, remind us that You never ask us to walk alone. Help us trust You with each step, each tear, and each new day. Give us strength for today and confidence that You are already preparing tomorrow. Thank You for Your faithful presence and Your never-ending love.

In Jesus' precious Name,

Instead of thinking about everything that lies ahead, ask yourself:

"What is one faithful step I can take today?"

Maybe it's reading a chapter of God's Word.

Calling a friend.

Taking a walk.

Sharing a memory of your loved one.

Or simply sitting quietly in God's presence.

One faithful step is all He asks.
