"The Light Still Shines"

"The light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."— John 1:5

🌿 Devotional Thought

There are days in the grief journey when the darkness feels overwhelming.

You may smile on the outside while quietly carrying a heart that still aches on the inside.

There are moments when you wonder if the heaviness will ever lift.

If joy will ever return.

If your heart will ever feel whole again.

The beautiful promise found in John 1:5 reminds us that light is always stronger than darkness.

Darkness cannot overcome the light of Christ.

Not fear.

Not sorrow.

Not loneliness.

Not even death.

Jesus entered a world filled with pain, loss, and brokenness to become our everlasting Light.

When grief clouds our vision, His light gently reminds us of His promises.

When our path seems uncertain, His light guides our next step.

When our hearts feel discouraged, His light fills us with hope.

Sometimes His light doesn't remove every shadow immediately.

Instead, it gives us just enough light for the next step.

And then the next.

And then the next.

That is how God often leads us through grief.

Not by revealing the entire journey at once, but by faithfully walking beside us every step of the way.

If today feels dark, don't lose heart.

The Light of the World is still shining.

He is shining into your circumstances.

He is shining into your memories.

He is shining into your tears.

And He is shining into your future.

One day, when we stand in His presence, there will be no more night.

No more sorrow.

No more tears.

Only the glorious light of Christ and the joy of being reunited with those who know Him.

Until that day, keep looking toward the Light.

Because even the smallest ray of God's hope is enough to guide us through the darkest valley.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being the Light that no darkness can overcome. When grief feels heavy and our hearts are weary, help us lift our eyes to You. Shine Your peace into our anxious thoughts, Your comfort into our sorrow, and Your hope into every uncertain tomorrow. Thank You for walking beside us, leading us one step at a time, and reminding us that Your light will never grow dim. We trust You to carry us until the day we stand with You in everlasting joy.
