💜 "The Shepherd Never Leaves His Sheep"

Scripture (KJV)

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul."— Psalm 23:1-3

Devotional Thought

Grief has a way of making us feel lost.

The familiar path suddenly looks different.

The future seems uncertain.

And the heart longs for the comfort of what once was.

If you've ever felt that way, take comfort in one of the most beloved passages in all of Scripture.

"The Lord is my shepherd."

A shepherd never abandons his sheep.

He walks ahead of them.

He protects them.

He searches for them when they wander.

And when they become weary, he gently leads them to a place of rest.

That is exactly what our Heavenly Father does for us.

He never asks us to navigate grief by ourselves.

He walks beside us through every valley.

He comforts us during sleepless nights.

He quiets our anxious hearts.

And when we feel too weak to keep going, He lovingly carries us.

Notice that David did not say,

"I restore my own soul."

He said,

"He restoreth my soul."

Healing is God's work.

Our part is to stay close to the Shepherd.

Some days His leading may be slow.

Some days the valley may seem long.

But every step is guided by His loving hand.

Friend, if your heart feels weary today, don't focus on how far you still have to go.

Simply stay close to the Shepherd.

He knows the path.

He knows your pain.

And He knows exactly how to restore your soul.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being our Good Shepherd. Thank You for never leaving us alone in our grief and for faithfully leading us beside still waters when our hearts are troubled. Restore our souls, strengthen our faith, and remind us that no valley is too deep for Your love to reach. Help us trust You one step at a time.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.
