"The Love You Shared Is Still a Gift"
Scripture (KJV)
"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it..."— Song of Solomon 8:7a (KJV)
🌿 Devotional Thought
One of the hardest parts of grief is learning to live without the physical presence of someone you deeply love.
You miss hearing their voice.
You miss seeing their smile.
You miss the ordinary moments that once seemed so routine.
Yet there is something that death cannot take away.
Love.
The love you shared did not end the day your loved one entered eternity.
Love continues to shape your heart.
It continues to influence your life.
It continues to inspire kindness, compassion, and faith.
Every lesson they taught you...
Every laugh you shared...
Every prayer they prayed over you...
Every hug that made you feel safe...
Those gifts are still with you.
Song of Solomon reminds us that "Many waters cannot quench love."
Love is one of God's greatest gifts, and because God is eternal, love has an eternal quality.
That is why memories can still bring warmth to your heart.
That is why you can still smile when you tell their stories.
That is why their influence continues long after they are gone.
Today, instead of focusing only on what grief has taken, take a moment to thank God for what love has given.
Thank Him for the years you shared.
Thank Him for the memories that still make you smile.
Thank Him for the ways your loved one pointed you toward goodness, faith, and hope.
Grief reminds us that we have lost someone precious.
But love reminds us that what they poured into our lives can never truly be lost.
As followers of Christ, we also have the blessed assurance that love will have its perfect fulfillment when we stand together in His presence.
Until that glorious day, let the love you shared become a blessing that you continue to pass on to others.
That is one of the most beautiful ways to honor the life of someone you will always cherish.
🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the precious gift of love. Thank You for every memory, every lesson, and every moment You allowed us to share with those we hold dear. Help us to treasure those gifts without fear and to honor their legacy by showing Your love to others. When grief feels heavy, remind us that love never truly ends, because You are the Author of love and the Giver of eternal hope. Fill our hearts today with Your peace and the assurance that one day we will rejoice together in Your presence.
In Jesus' precious Name,
Amen.
🌸 Reflection for Today
Think of one quality your loved one was known for.
Was it kindness?
Generosity?
Patience?
A joyful laugh?
Today, intentionally share that same quality with someone else.
In doing so, you honor both their memory and the God who blessed your life through them.

💜 Agape Love Reminder
Grief may remind us of the empty place someone leaves behind, but love reminds us of the beautiful gift they left within our hearts. Cherish the memories, speak their name with gratitude, and let the love they shared continue to shine through your life. God's love is everlasting, and because of Christ, the story of love does not end at the grave—it continues into eternity. 🌿💜🕊️
