God Uses Ordinary People

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty."— 1 Corinthians 1:27 (KJV)

🌅 Good Morning, Friends!

Happy Wednesday!

Have you ever felt like you weren't qualified enough?

Maybe you've thought...

"I'm not smart enough."

"I'm too old."

"I'm too young."

"Someone else could do it better."

If those thoughts have ever crossed your mind, you're in good company.

Throughout the Bible, God repeatedly chose ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

Moses believed he wasn't a good speaker.

Gideon called himself the weakest in his family.

David was a young shepherd overlooked by nearly everyone.

Peter was an ordinary fisherman.

Mary was a humble young woman who simply trusted God's plan.

None of them were chosen because they were perfect.

They were chosen because they were willing.

And the same God who called them is still calling people today.

Maybe... He's calling you.

đź“– Today's Bible Reading

1 Corinthians 1:26–31 (KJV)

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty."

God delights in using ordinary people who trust Him.

Why?

So that the glory belongs to Him—not us.

Your education doesn't determine your usefulness.

Your income doesn't determine your calling.

Your popularity doesn't determine your purpose.

Your willingness to trust and obey God is what matters most.

Never underestimate what God can accomplish through a heart that is fully surrendered to Him.

📜 Today in History

August 5, 1914

The first electric traffic signal system was installed in Cleveland, Ohio, helping improve safety and organization on busy city streets.

Just as traffic signals provide direction, God's Word provides guidance for our lives.

When we follow His direction, He leads us on the path He has prepared for us.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."— Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

🎉 Today's Holidays

Today is a wonderful day to appreciate the blessings God gives us through family and friends.

💗 National Work Like a Dog Day reminds us that diligent work done with the right attitude can honor God.

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."— Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

Whether you're serving at home, working at your job, volunteering at church, or caring for someone you love, remember that your work matters when it is done for the Lord.

🌻 Inspiration for Today

God doesn't call the qualified.

He qualifies the called.

When God places a dream in your heart...

Don't focus on what you lack.

Focus on who He is.

His strength is greater than your weakness.

His wisdom is greater than your uncertainty.

His grace is greater than your past.

Your calling has never depended on your perfection.

It has always depended on His faithfulness.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for reminding us that You often use ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

Help us to stop focusing on our limitations and begin trusting Your power.

Give us courage to say "yes" when You call.

Strengthen our faith when we feel inadequate.

Teach us to serve with humility, love others generously, and live each day for Your glory.

Bless every reader today.

Bring healing to the sick.

Comfort those who grieve.

Provide for those who are struggling.

Encourage the discouraged.

And remind each of us that You can do immeasurably more than we could ever imagine when we place our lives in Your hands.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.
