✍️ Agape Love Publishing – Author Devotional Wednesday, August 5Write With Eternal Purpose

Write With Eternal Purpose

Scripture

"Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;" — Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

As writers, it's easy to become distracted by numbers.

How many books have I sold?

How many people liked my post?

How many reviews did I receive?

How many followers do I have?

While those things can be encouraging, they should never become the measure of our success.

God's definition of success is different from the world's.

He doesn't ask us how many copies we sold.

He asks if we were faithful with the message He entrusted to us.

Every word you write is an opportunity to glorify God. Whether your audience is thousands of readers or just one person searching for hope, your obedience matters.

Remember, Jesus often ministered to one person at a time.

One woman at the well.

One blind man.

One tax collector.

One grieving family.

Lives were changed because He cared about the individual.

As Christian authors, we are called to do the same.

Never underestimate the power of a single page that points someone to Christ.

Your book may sit on a nightstand beside a hospital bed.

It may comfort a grieving widow.

It may inspire a young believer to answer God's call.

It may lead someone to open a Bible for the very first time.

That is eternal impact.

Write with excellence.

Write with compassion.

Write with humility.

Most of all…

Write for an audience of One.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Help us keep our eyes on You rather than on worldly measures of success. May every book, article, devotional, or story we write bring honor to Your name. Give us wisdom to write with integrity, love, and eternal purpose. Let our words become vessels of hope, encouragement, and truth, leading others closer to You.

Thank You for entrusting us with this calling.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

✍️ Today's Author Challenge

Before you begin writing today, ask yourself:

"Will these words point someone closer to Jesus?"

Then write with confidence, knowing that faithfulness is the greatest success.

💜 Wednesday Writer Discussion

Let's encourage one another today!

If you could leave just one message for future generations through your writing, what would it be?

Share your answer in the comments. Your words may inspire another writer to keep pressing forward in the calling God has placed on their heart.

Today's Encouragement

"The greatest legacy an author can leave is not a bestselling book—it is a life that faithfully pointed others to Jesus Christ."

May your pen be guided by the Holy Spirit, your heart remain humble, and your words leave an eternal imprint on every reader God places in your path.

Happy Writing!
