Finish What God Has Started
Scripture
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." — Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
Good morning, authors!
Have you ever started a writing project filled with excitement, only to lose momentum somewhere along the way?
The blank pages slowly filled with ideas.
The outline came together.
The first chapters practically wrote themselves.
Then life happened.
Responsibilities increased.
Distractions appeared.
Discouragement crept in.
And before long, the manuscript that once brought you so much joy was sitting untouched.
If that sounds familiar, take heart.
God finishes what He starts.
The same God who placed that story in your heart is still walking beside you today.
Your progress may feel slow, but slow progress is still progress.
Your journey may not look exactly the way you imagined, but God's plans are always greater than our expectations.
🌿 The Middle Is Often the Hardest Part
Beginnings are exciting.
Endings are rewarding.
But the middle?
That's where many writers struggle.
The middle is where doubt tries to convince you to quit.
The middle is where comparison begins to whisper.
The middle is where unfinished chapters can feel overwhelming.
But remember this:
A book isn't completed all at once.
It's written one paragraph at a time.
One page at a time.
One faithful step at a time.
And that's exactly how God often works in our lives.
💜 Don't Abandon the Calling
Perhaps you're carrying an unfinished manuscript.
Maybe it's a devotional.
A Bible study.
A novel.
A testimony.
A children's book.
Whatever God has called you to write, don't abandon it because the journey has become difficult.
Return to it.
Pray over it.
Trust God with it.
And then begin again.
The world may never understand the importance of your story.
But God does.
🙏 Friday Author Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gifts, dreams, and stories You have entrusted to us.
When we become discouraged, remind us that You are still working.
Give us strength when we feel weary and courage when doubt tries to overwhelm us.
Help us remain faithful to the calling You have placed upon our hearts.
Guide our words, our thoughts, and our creativity.
And may everything we write bring honor and glory to You.
In Jesus' precious name,
Amen.
✍️ Today's Author Challenge
Spend 30 minutes working on something you've left unfinished.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
Simply take the next step.
Edit one page.
Write one paragraph.
Review one chapter.
Revisit one idea.
Small, faithful steps eventually become finished books.

God is still writing beautiful things through you.
