💜 Make Room for the Gift God Has Given You!

📖 Today's Scripture (KJV)

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" — Ecclesiastes 3:1

☕📖 Good Monday morning, authors, writers, and future authors!

Have you ever noticed how quickly life fills up our days?

We wake up with wonderful intentions.

We plan to write a chapter, edit a few pages, research a new idea, or finally begin that book we've been thinking about.

But then life happens!

The phone rings.

Someone needs our help.

The laundry is waiting.

Work runs late.

Dinner needs cooking.

And before we know it, another day has passed without writing a single word.

Sound familiar? 😊

Friend, today I want to remind you of something.

If something is important to us, we have to be intentional about making room for it.

That includes the gifts and abilities God has placed within us.

🌿 You Don't Have to Find Time—Sometimes You Have to Make Time

One of the most common things I hear from people who want to write a book is:

"I just don't have time."

And I understand that!

We have families, jobs, ministries, businesses, appointments, and responsibilities.

Some days, we're doing well just to get everything accomplished that absolutely must be done.

But sometimes we spend so much time waiting for a completely free day that we never recognize the little opportunities already available to us.

Maybe you don't have three hours to write.

But could you find fifteen minutes?

Maybe you can't finish a chapter today.

But could you write a paragraph?

Maybe you don't have time to research an entire subject.

But could you write down three questions to investigate later?

Small, intentional moments can become meaningful progress.

💜 Your Writing Doesn't Have to Compete With Everything Else

Now, I want to make something clear.

I'm not suggesting that you neglect your family, your responsibilities, or your relationship with God to finish a manuscript.

Absolutely not!

Our priorities matter.

But sometimes we convince ourselves that pursuing a writing dream means sacrificing everything else.

It doesn't have to.

Perhaps your writing time is early in the morning with a cup of coffee.

Perhaps it's during lunch.

Maybe it's a quiet half hour in the evening.

Maybe you can only write a few days each week.

That's okay.

A realistic writing schedule is better than an impossible one that leaves you feeling defeated.

✍️ Treat Your Writing Like Something Worth Your Attention

Here's something I want us to consider.

We make appointments for so many things.

Doctor visits.

Work meetings.

Church activities.

Family commitments.

Hair appointments.

And everything else that fills our calendars.

But how often do we make an appointment with our manuscript?

We say:

"I'll write when I have time."

Then something else always takes that time.

What if this week you actually scheduled your writing?

Not for hours and hours.

Just a manageable amount of time.

Write it on your calendar.

Set a reminder.

Protect that time when reasonably possible.

And when the appointment arrives, sit down and write.

You don't have to wait until inspiration appears to make progress.

Sometimes inspiration comes after we begin.

🌸 Don't Allow Busyness to Become Your Identity

There's another side to this I want to mention.

Sometimes we become so accustomed to being busy that we feel guilty when we slow down.

We believe every moment must be productive.

Every hour must accomplish something.

Every day must move us closer to another goal.

But Ecclesiastes reminds us that there are different seasons and purposes in life.

There are seasons for working.

Seasons for learning.

Seasons for waiting.

Seasons for serving.

And seasons when we need rest.

Being faithful doesn't mean being busy every minute.

It means seeking wisdom about how we use the time and opportunities God gives us.

💜 The Dream Matters, but So Does the Life You're Living

Author, please don't become so focused on finishing your book that you forget to enjoy the people and blessings around you.

Spend time with your family.

Enjoy your grandchildren.

Go to church.

Have coffee with a friend.

Take a walk.

Laugh.

Rest.

Make memories.

Because sometimes the very moments we're tempted to rush through become the experiences that give our writing depth and meaning.

Live your life while you're writing about it.

Your manuscript is important.

But so are the people who love you.

🙏 Monday Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this beautiful Monday and another opportunity to use the gifts and abilities You have placed within us.

Lord, today I pray for every author, writer, and future author who feels overwhelmed by the responsibilities of life.

For the person who wants to write but cannot seem to find the time.

For the author who is balancing family, work, ministry, and personal responsibilities.

For the writer who feels guilty because their manuscript hasn't progressed.

And for the person who has been waiting for the perfect season to begin.

Father, give us wisdom to manage our time.

Help us recognize the difference between necessary responsibilities and unnecessary distractions.

Teach us to make room for the things that matter without neglecting the people who depend on us.

Give us discipline when we need to work.

Patience when progress is slow.

And peace when we need to rest.

Guide the words we write and the stories we choose to tell.

Help us use our time wisely and our gifts faithfully.

And above everything else, may our lives and our writing bring honor and glory to You.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

✍️ MONDAY AUTHOR CHALLENGE

💜 Make an Appointment With Your Manuscript!

Today, I want you to do something simple but intentional.

Schedule 20 minutes for your writing this week.

Put it on your calendar.

Treat it like an appointment.

During those 20 minutes, choose one thing to accomplish:

✍️ Write 300 words.

📖 Finish a page.

📝 Edit a chapter.

🔎 Research a subject.

💡 Develop a character.

📚 Learn something about publishing.

📣 Work on your book marketing.

And when your writing time is finished, celebrate the progress you made!

You don't have to accomplish everything in one sitting.

Just make room for the gift you've been given.

💜 MONDAY AUTHORS HUB — LET'S TALK ABOUT TIME!

Today, I want to hear from everyone in our Authors Hub!

📚 PUBLISHED AUTHORS

Share your book title and purchase link!

Then tell us:

How did you make time to write your first book?

Did you write early in the morning?

Late at night?

On weekends?

During lunch breaks?

Your experience may help someone who is struggling to find time.

✍️ CURRENT WRITERS

What are you working on?

And here's today's question:

When do you find it easiest to write?

Morning?

Afternoon?

Evening?

Whenever the house finally gets quiet? 😊

💡 FUTURE AUTHORS

Have you been wanting to write a book but feel like you don't have enough time?

Tell us what kind of book you'd love to write!

And let's talk about how you might begin with just a few minutes each week.

❤️ EVERYONE

Before leaving the comments, encourage another author.

Share a time-management tip.

Visit someone's book link.

Ask about their writing routine.

Or offer a kind word to someone who is feeling overwhelmed.

Let's make our Authors Hub a place where we help one another turn dreams into finished books!

🌷 MONDAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT

"You don't have to rearrange your entire life to begin writing your story. Sometimes you simply need to make room for one faithful step."

Author, don't wait for the perfect day.

Don't wait until every responsibility disappears.

Don't wait until you have hours of uninterrupted time.

Start with what you have.

Use the opportunities available.

Make a realistic plan.

And remember that progress doesn't always have to be fast to be meaningful.

A few minutes today.

Another page tomorrow.

A completed chapter next week.

Little by little, your manuscript can grow.

But most importantly, don't forget to enjoy the beautiful life God has given you along the way.

💜 MAKE ROOM FOR YOUR WRITING, BUT NEVER FORGET TO MAKE ROOM FOR WHAT MATTERS MOST!

Happy Monday, Authors! ☕📖✍️
