For Thursday, October 22, 2026, let's share a fresh message with our Agape Love Publishing Authors Hub. We've talked about writing, editing, perseverance, and encouraging one another. Tomorrow, let's focus on something especially important for Christian authors: Are we writing to be noticed, or are we writing to make a difference?

💜 Write to Make a Difference, Not Just to Make a Name!

📖 Today's Scripture (KJV)

"Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." — Philippians 2:3

☕📖 Good Thursday morning, authors, writers, and future authors!

Today, I want to ask you a question.

Why do you write?

Now, don't answer too quickly.

Think about it for a moment.

Do you write because you love telling stories?

Because you want to preserve family memories?

Because you have something important to teach?

Because you want to encourage others?

Because you've always dreamed of becoming a published author?

Or perhaps you hope your books will eventually provide an income for your family.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to sell books, earn a living from writing, or see your hard work recognized.

But somewhere along our writing journey, I believe we need to stop and examine our hearts.

Are we becoming more concerned about people knowing our names than about the value of the words we're sharing?

🌿 Success Isn't Always Measured by Sales

We live in a world where success is often measured by numbers.

Book sales.

Followers.

Reviews.

Bestseller rankings.

Speaking invitations.

And recognition.

Those things can be wonderful accomplishments.

But they don't tell the entire story.

What about the author whose devotional encourages someone facing a difficult season?

What about the grandmother who writes a book preserving family stories for future generations?

What about the children's author whose book helps a child develop a love for reading?

What about the writer whose testimony reminds someone of God's faithfulness?

A book doesn't have to become famous to make a meaningful difference.

💜 Keep Your Heart in the Right Place

Philippians 2:3 reminds us to guard against selfish ambition and pride.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't have goals.

It doesn't mean we shouldn't market our books.

And it certainly doesn't mean authors shouldn't be compensated for their hard work.

But it does remind us that our motives matter.

We can pursue excellence without becoming prideful.

We can celebrate accomplishments without looking down on others.

We can promote our books without making every conversation about ourselves.

And we can build successful writing careers while still treating people with kindness, humility, and respect.

The goal isn't to become less ambitious. It's to make sure our ambition doesn't become more important than our character.

✍️ Remember the Reader on the Other Side of the Page

Sometimes we become so focused on publishing that we forget about the people who will eventually read our books.

Behind every purchase is a real person.

Someone who has chosen to spend their time and money on something we created.

That's a responsibility worth taking seriously.

Are we giving them our best work?

Have we taken time to edit carefully?

Are we being truthful in our descriptions?

Are we respecting their trust?

Are we writing something that offers entertainment, encouragement, knowledge, or another meaningful experience?

Good writing isn't simply about what we want to say. It's also about respecting the people who take the time to read it.

🌸 Don't Let Recognition Change Who You Are

Perhaps someday your books will sell thousands of copies.

Perhaps you'll receive speaking invitations.

Perhaps you'll be recognized at author events.

Perhaps your writing will become a full-time career.

If those opportunities come, be thankful!

Enjoy the blessings.

Celebrate the accomplishments.

But never forget where you started.

Remember the person who encouraged you when you were afraid to share your first manuscript.

Remember the editor who helped you improve.

Remember the reader who purchased your first book.

Remember the people who prayed for you.

And remember the God who gave you the ability to learn, create, and grow.

Success should never make us too important to be kind.

💜 What Kind of Legacy Are You Writing?

Here's something I want us to think about today.

Years from now, people may forget how many books we sold.

They may forget our rankings.

They may forget our social media numbers.

But perhaps they'll remember a story that touched their hearts.

A devotional that encouraged them.

A lesson they learned.

A book they shared with their children.

Or the kindness we showed them along the way.

Our legacy isn't only found in the books we leave behind. It's also found in the lives we touch while writing them.

🙏 Thursday Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this beautiful Thursday and another opportunity to use the gifts You have given us.

Lord, today I pray for every author, writer, and future author in our community.

Help us examine the motives behind our writing.

Give us ambition that is guided by wisdom, humility, and love.

Protect us from pride, jealousy, and the desire to be recognized above others.

Help us celebrate our accomplishments without forgetting the people who helped us along the way.

Bless the author who is struggling financially.

Encourage the writer who feels unnoticed.

Give wisdom to those working to build a writing career.

And remind us that our worth is not determined by sales, followers, or recognition.

Lord, help us produce work that respects our readers and reflects the values we hold dear.

May our books entertain, educate, encourage, comfort, and inspire.

And when opportunities for success come, help us remain humble, thankful, and willing to encourage others.

Above everything else, may our words and our lives bring honor and glory to You.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

✍️ THURSDAY AUTHOR CHALLENGE

💜 Remember Your Why!

Today, take a few minutes to answer these three questions:

1. Why did I begin writing?

Was it a lifelong dream? A testimony? A love for storytelling? A desire to help others?

2. What do I hope readers receive from my books?

Encouragement? Entertainment? Knowledge? Hope? Inspiration?

3. What kind of author do I want people to remember?

Someone who was successful?

Someone who was kind?

Someone who helped others?

Someone who remained faithful to their values?

Write your answers down and keep them somewhere you can revisit when your writing journey becomes difficult.

Never become so focused on where you're going that you forget why you started.

💜 THURSDAY AUTHORS HUB — LET'S SHARE THE HEART BEHIND OUR BOOKS!

Today, I want to hear from our wonderful community!

📚 PUBLISHED AUTHORS: Share your book title and purchase link! Then tell us: What inspired you to write your first book, and what do you hope readers take away from it?

✍️ CURRENT WRITERS: What are you working on, and what is the message or experience you hope your readers will remember?

💡 FUTURE AUTHORS: If you could write one book that would make a difference in someone's life, what would it be about?

❤️ EVERYONE: Take a moment to encourage another author. Visit their book link, ask about their story, or share a helpful word of encouragement.

Let's make our Authors Hub a place where we celebrate meaningful stories, genuine relationships, and the success of others!

🌷 THURSDAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT

"A successful book may put your name on a cover, but a meaningful story can leave an impression on someone's heart."

Author, keep writing.

Keep learning.

Keep improving.

Keep sharing your books.

And yes, keep pursuing your dreams!

There's nothing wrong with wanting to become a successful author.

But don't allow recognition to become more important than your purpose.

Don't allow competition to steal your kindness.

Don't allow sales numbers to determine your worth.

And don't forget the people who helped you along the way.

Because at the end of the day, the greatest reward may not be seeing our names in lights.

It may be knowing that something we wrote brought joy, encouragement, understanding, or hope to another person.

💜 WRITE WITH PURPOSE. LEAD WITH HUMILITY. LET YOUR WORDS MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Happy Thursday, Authors! ☕📖✍️
