The weekend is a gift…

A pause.A breath.A moment to step away from the noise and reconnect with what matters most.

As writers, we can easily get caught up in doing.

Writing more.Editing more.Planning more.

But sometimes God calls us to something different…

To rest.To reflect.To realign.

Jesus invites us in Matthew to come to Him when we are weary.

Not just physically tired…but mentally and spiritually worn.

Writing takes a lot out of you.

It pulls from your heart, your thoughts, your emotions.

And if you don’t take time to be refilled…

You will begin to feel empty.

That’s why rest is not a delay in your calling…

It is part of it.

Psalm 119 reminds us that God’s Word is a lamp.

Not a spotlight showing the entire journey—

But a light for the next step.

And sometimes, we need to pause long enough to see clearly again.

Proverbs reminds us to acknowledge Him in all things.

That includes your writing.

Your ideas.Your direction.Your next step.

So this weekend…

Give yourself permission to slow down.

Spend time with God.Reflect on what He’s been doing in your life and writing.Realign your heart with His purpose.

And if you write…

Let it come from a place of peace, not pressure.

Because when your heart is aligned with Him…

Your words will follow.
