There Is No Better Time to Start a New Story
Scripture:
Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)
"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?"
Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV)
"And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it."
Welcome to August.
A new month.
A new beginning.
And perhaps…
A brand-new story.
Maybe you've had ideas tucked away in your heart for years.
Perhaps you've been waiting for the perfect time.
More time.
More confidence.
More experience.
More certainty.
But what if the perfect time isn't someday?
What if the perfect time is now?
God specializes in new beginnings.
He doesn't ask us to have everything figured out.
He simply asks us to trust Him enough to begin.
Isaiah reminds us that He is always doing something new.
New opportunities.
New dreams.
New chapters.
New stories.
And Lamentations reminds us that His mercies are new every morning.
That means yesterday's regrets do not have to define tomorrow's possibilities.
Perhaps there are stories that have lived inside your heart for years.
Ideas that you've scribbled in notebooks.
Characters that have quietly waited for their moment.
Dreams that you've been too afraid to pursue.
This weekend, maybe it's time to stop waiting.
Maybe it's time to stop overthinking.
Maybe it's time to stop worrying about perfection.
Habakkuk reminds us to write the vision.
Not just think about it.
Not just dream about it.
Write it.
Get those thoughts out of your head and onto the page.
You don't have to know how the entire story will unfold.
You simply need to take the first step.
Write the first sentence.
Outline the first chapter.
Capture the first idea.
Because every great book began with a blank page.
Every testimony began with a first chapter.
And every dream fulfilled began with someone willing to begin.
There is no age limit on God's calling.
No expiration date on dreams.
And no better time to start a new story than today.
The Author of your life is still writing.
And some of the most beautiful chapters may be the ones that are just beginning.
Weekend Reflection
đź’ś What story has God been placing on my heart?
đź’ś What fears have been keeping me from beginning?
đź’ś What ideas do I need to get out of my head and onto the page?
đź’ś What first step can I take this weekend?
đź’ś Am I trusting God enough to begin?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gift of new beginnings. Thank You for the dreams, ideas, and stories You have placed within my heart. Give me the courage to begin and the faith to trust You with the process. Help me to stop waiting for perfect circumstances and simply take the next faithful step. May the words I write bring glory to You and encouragement to others. Thank You for continuing to write beautiful things through my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
