Celebrate Freedom and Write With Courage
Scripture:
John 8:36 (KJV)
"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
Psalm 33:12 (KJV)
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance."
Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
As we celebrate Independence Day weekend, we are reminded of the many blessings we enjoy and the freedoms we often take for granted.
But there is a freedom even greater than the freedoms we celebrate as Americans.
It is the freedom found in Christ.
Freedom from fear.
Freedom from regret.
Freedom from believing that our past mistakes determine our future.
Freedom to dream.
Freedom to create.
Freedom to tell the story God has placed within our hearts.
As Christian authors, we have been given a gift.
A message.
A testimony.
A story that only we can tell.
And with that gift comes the opportunity to shine the light of Christ into a world that desperately needs hope.
Perhaps you've been afraid to begin.
Perhaps you've doubted whether your story really matters.
Perhaps you've wondered if you're too old, too busy, or too far behind.
But freedom in Christ means you no longer have to live under fear.
You are free to begin.
Free to dream.
Free to create.
Free to trust God with the outcome.
This weekend, while spending time with family and friends and celebrating the blessings God has given us, take a few moments to thank Him for the story He is writing in your life.
Thank Him for the ideas He has placed within your heart.
Thank Him for the opportunities that lie ahead.
And thank Him for the readers whose lives may one day be touched because you chose to be faithful.
God is not finished with your story.
The Author of your life is still writing.
And some of the most beautiful chapters may still be ahead.
Weekend Reflection
đź’ś What freedoms and blessings am I most thankful for?
đź’ś What fears do I need to surrender to God?
đź’ś What story has He placed on my heart?
đź’ś What dream have I been afraid to pursue?
đź’ś How can I use my writing to point others toward Christ?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the freedoms we enjoy and for the even greater freedom we have through Jesus Christ. Thank You for the dreams, stories, and opportunities You have placed before us. Help me to write with courage and faith. Remove fear and doubt from my heart and teach me to trust You with every chapter. May my words bring hope, encouragement, and glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
