šŸ–šŸŽ Slow-Cooked Apple Cider BBQ Country Ribs with Brown Sugar Baked Beans & Skillet Fried Apples šŸšŸ„“

Good morning, folks! šŸ¤ šŸ‚

Happy Thursday, friends!

Today we're bringing a little backyard BBQ flavor into the kitchen with a hearty fall supper that's sure to have everybody coming back for seconds!

We're making tender, slow-cooked country-style pork ribsĀ smothered in a sweet and smoky apple cider BBQ sauce. On the side, we're serving old-fashioned brown sugar baked beans and warm cinnamon skillet apples.

And the best part? You can let those ribs cook low and slow while you take care of everything else!

Grab your slow cooker, friends. Let's get cooking!Ā ā¤ļøšŸ”„

šŸ– Apple Cider BBQ Country-Style Ribs

Serves 6

Prep: 20 minutes

Slow cooker: 6–8 hours

Ingredients

  • 3–4 lbs boneless country-style pork ribs

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced

  • ½ cup apple cider

šŸŽ Homemade Apple Cider BBQ Sauce

  • 1 cup smoky BBQ sauce

  • ½ cup apple butter

  • ¼ cup apple cider

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

šŸ”„ Let's Get Cooking!

1ļøāƒ£ Season those ribs!

Pat the pork dry. Mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and chili powder.

Rub the seasoning all over the pork.

2ļøāƒ£ Give them a good sear!

Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Brown the ribs for approximately 2–3 minutes per side.

We're building flavor, friends!

3ļøāƒ£ Prepare the slow cooker.

Place the sliced onions in the bottom of your slow cooker.

Pour in ½ cup apple cider and arrange the browned pork over the onions.

4ļøāƒ£ Make that homemade BBQ sauce! šŸŽ

Whisk together all the sauce ingredients until smooth.

Reserve about ½ cup of sauce in the refrigerator for finishing, keeping it separate from the raw pork.

Pour the remaining sauce over the ribs.

5ļøāƒ£ Low and slow!

Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 6–8 hours, until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.

6ļøāƒ£ Make them sticky! šŸ”„

Carefully transfer the cooked ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet.

Brush with the reserved BBQ sauce.

Broil for approximately 2–4 minutes until the glaze begins to caramelize.

Watch closely because the sugars can burn quickly!

7ļøāƒ£ Serve them up!

Place those tender ribs on a platter, spoon a little sauce over the top, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Oh my goodness! Sweet, smoky, sticky, and fall-off-the-fork tender!Ā šŸ¤ ā¤ļø

These apples are so good, you might want to save a few for dessert!Ā šŸ˜‹

⭐ MawMaw's Chuckwagon Secret

šŸ– Want tender country-style ribs every time?

Country-style pork ribs are often cut from the shoulder, making them wonderful for slow cooking.

The secret is giving them enough time for the connective tissue to soften.

And here's another little trick: don't drown your ribs in liquid!

The pork releases its own juices as it cooks, so a little cider and a flavorful sauce go a long way.

For that sticky BBQ finish, brush the ribs with fresh reserved sauce and broil them just before serving.

šŸ½ļø Make It a Country BBQ Supper

Serve your ribs with creamy coleslaw, baked beans, skillet fried apples, buttery cornbread, Southern green beans, and a tall glass of sweet tea or cold apple cider.

šŸ‚ And for dessert?

šŸŽ Caramel Pecan Apple Dump Cake

Imagine warm cinnamon apples baked beneath a buttery golden cake topping, finished with toasted pecans, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream.

That's a sweet ending to a delicious country supper!Ā ā˜•šŸ

šŸ’œ Thursday Chuckwagon Encouragement

As I was thinking about today's recipe, I thought about how some of the best things in life take time.

We live in a world where everybody seems to want everything right now.

We want immediate answers.

We want our prayers answered today.

We want our problems solved before tomorrow.

But sometimes God asks us to wait.

And waiting isn't always easy.

Maybe you've been praying for a loved one.

Maybe you're waiting for a door to open.

Maybe you're asking God to help you understand why something happened.

Whatever you're waiting on, remember this:

Just because God hasn't answered the way you expected doesn't mean He isn't listening.

Sometimes He's preparing the way.

Sometimes He's preparing us.

And sometimes He's teaching us to trust Him even when we cannot see what He's doing.

Don't give up, friends.

Keep praying.

Keep believing.

Keep walking in faith.

God's timing is always worth trusting.Ā ā¤ļø

Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
