🎁 Christmas Craft Countdown – Day 15 (November 23)

Updated: Dec 3, 2025

Craft: “Immanuel Wood Slice Ornament” 🌲✝️

Theme: God with us — a simple, rustic reminder on your tree.

❤️ What You’ll Need:

  • Wood slice ornament (pre-drilled, or small round from a branch)

  • White acrylic paint (or cream)

  • Fine-tip paint pen or permanent marker (black or dark brown)

  • Small piece of evergreen (real or faux)

  • Mini red berries or tiny red beads

  • Hot glue gun

  • Jute twine or ribbon for hanging

  • Optional:

    • Gold paint pen for accents

    • Light coat of clear sealant

🎨 Directions:

  1. Prepare the Wood Slice

    • Make sure the wood slice is smooth and dry.

    • If you like, lightly dry-brush white paint across the front, leaving some wood showing for a rustic look. Let dry.

  2. Add the Word “Immanuel”

    • With your paint pen or marker, write “Immanuel” across the center in script or pretty print.

    • Optional: Add the year (“2025”) at the bottom or a tiny heart/cross near the word.

  3. Decorate the Top

    • Glue a small sprig of evergreen to the top edge of the wood slice.

    • Add two or three little red berries on top of the greenery for a Christmas pop of color.

  4. Finishing Touches

    • Use a gold pen to add tiny dots, stars, or a small halo-like ring above the word if you’d like.

    • Seal with a light coat of clear spray or Mod Podge if you want it to last for years.

  5. Add the Hanger

    • Thread jute twine or ribbon through the hole and tie in a loop for hanging.

  6. Display

    • Hang it on your tree, tuck it into a wreath, or tie it onto a gift as a meaningful tag.

✝️ Faith Reflection:

Matthew 1:23 (KJV) – “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

Every time you see this ornament, let it whisper to your heart: You are not alone — God is with you.
