Craft: āOversized Outdoor Ornament Topiary (Bucket Repurpose)āĀ ššŖ£āØ
Theme:Turning everyday items into joyful outdoor Christmas dĆ©cor ā bold, festive, and full of cheer.
This craft looks high-end, but itās made from simple, repurposed items!
ā¤ļø What Youāll Need:
Large plastic bucket, planter, or laundry basketĀ (repurposed)
Large ballĀ (playground ball, yoga ball, or plastic ball)
Spray paintĀ (outdoor-safe: red, green, gold, or silver)
Plastic bowlĀ (for ornament cap)
Heavy-duty adhesiveĀ (E6000 or construction adhesive)
Outdoor ribbon or mesh ribbon
Floral foam, bricks, or rocksĀ (for weight)
Optional:
Faux greenery
Battery fairy lights
Vinyl words (JOY, NOEL, PEACE)
Glitter spray
⨠Directions:
1. Prep the Base
Fill the bucket or planter with rocks, bricks, or foam to add weight so it wonāt tip outdoors.
Optional: Spray paint the bucket to match or wrap it with ribbon or burlap.
2. Paint the Ball
Spray paint your large ball in thin coats.Let it dry fully between coats.
Fun color ideas:
Red with gold ribbon
Silver with white snowflakes
Green with plaid accents
3. Create the Ornament Cap
Spray paint the plastic bowl metallic gold or silver.Glue it upside-down to the top of the ball.
4. Assemble the Topiary
Secure the ball on top of the bucket using heavy-duty adhesive.Let it cure fully before moving.
5. Decorate
Add ribbon stripes vertically like a real ornament
Wrap fairy lights around the ball
Add vinyl words or stenciled snowflakes
Tuck greenery around the base
6. Display Outdoors
Place:
On each side of your front door
Along a walkway
On the porch
At the end of a driveway
They look AMAZING in pairs or trios.
