🎁 Christmas Craft Countdown – Day 39 (December 17)

“Giant Outdoor Present (Box Repurpose)” 🎁✨

Theme: Turning what we already have into something joyful — just like God transforms ordinary things into something beautiful.

This craft pairs PERFECTLY with your oversized ornaments and looks amazing on porches, lawns, and entryways.

❤️ What You’ll Need:

  • Large cardboard box (shipping box, appliance box, or storage box)

  • Outdoor wrapping paperOR plastic tableclothsOR painted plastic drop cloth

  • Wide ribbon or outdoor mesh ribbon

  • Tape & hot glue

  • Cardboard tube or extra box (for the bow base)

  • Optional:

    • Battery fairy lights

    • Vinyl words (JOY, NOEL, PEACE)

    • Faux greenery

    • Bells

✨ Directions:

1. Prep the Box

Close and tape the box securely so it’s sturdy.If placing outdoors, you can place a brick or rock inside for weight.

2. Wrap the Present

Wrap the box like a gift using:

  • Wrapping paper

  • Plastic tablecloth

  • Painted paper

Secure seams with tape and hot glue.

3. Add Ribbon

Wrap wide ribbon vertically and horizontally around the box like a real present.Glue in place underneath where it won’t show.

4. Make the Giant Bow

  • Cut loops from ribbon

  • Or fold ribbon accordion-style

  • Glue to a small cardboard base

Attach the bow to the top center of the box.

5. Decorate

Optional ideas:

  • Add greenery under the bow

  • Wrap fairy lights around the box

  • Add vinyl words like “JOY” or “The Greatest Gift”

  • Attach bells for movement and sound

6. Display

Place:

  • On the porch

  • In the yard

  • By the front door

  • Under a tree

  • Grouped with oversized ornaments

Use several sizes for a WOW effect!
