Trusting Godâs Justice and Mercy
Theme:Â God Is Righteous, Compassionate, and Always Faithful
Scripture:âShall not the Judge of all the earth do right?ââ Genesis 18:25 (KJV)
Reflection:There are moments in life when we wrestle with questionsâWhy does God allow this? How will this turn out? Is He truly at work here? Abraham asked a bold and honest question that still comforts hearts today: âShall not the Judge of all the earth do right?â
This question is not rooted in doubt, but in trust. Abraham believed that God is both just and mercifulâthat His ways are higher, His judgments are right, and His heart is compassionate. Even when outcomes are difficult to understand, God never stops being good.
Genesis reminds us that God sees the full picture. He knows what we cannot. He balances justice with mercy perfectlyânever leaning too far from either. When we are troubled by the brokenness of the world or uncertain about situations beyond our control, we can rest in this truth: God always does what is right.
As we walk through this new year, we will encounter things we donât understand. In those moments, faith is choosing to trust Godâs character over our confusion.
Meditation:Pause and reflect on this truth:God is righteous, and God is merciful.Let that settle your heart today.
Prayer:Father, thank You for being a God who always does what is right. When I donât understand what I see happening around me, help me trust Your wisdom, Your justice, and Your mercy. Strengthen my faith and remind me that You are always working for good, even when I cannot see it. I place my trust fully in You. In Jesusâ name, Amen. đ
