Godâs Grace Meets Us in Our Brokenness
Scripture:âBut the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?ââ Genesis 3:9 (KJV)
Reflection:One of the most tender moments in Scripture comes right after humanityâs greatest failure. Adam and Eve had sinned. Shame entered the world. Fear replaced fellowship. And yetâGod came looking for them.
He didnât come in anger first. He didnât come to abandon them.He came asking a question: âWhere art thou?â
That question wasnât about locationâit was about relationship. God already knew where Adam was, but He wanted Adam to recognize where he stood. Even in disobedience, God pursued. Even in brokenness, God remained near.
This reminds us of a powerful truth as we begin 2026:We may stumble. We may fall short. But God never stops calling us back to Himself.
Grace did not begin in the New Testamentâit was present from the very beginning. God covered Adam and Eve. He made a way forward. And He continued His plan of redemption that would ultimately lead to Jesus.
If you feel imperfect, hesitant, or aware of your own weaknesses today, take heart. God is not turning away from youâHe is calling you closer.
Meditation:Sit quietly and reflect:Where am I with God right now?Listen for His gentle invitation to walk with Him again.
Prayer:Father, thank You for seeking me even when I fall short. Thank You for Your grace that meets me in my broken places. As I walk into this new year, help me respond to Your call with humility, repentance, and trust. Draw me closer to You, and teach me to walk with You daily. In Jesusâ name, Amen. đ
