A fun, heartfelt project where everyone adds their own thankful touch ā perfect for family bonding and fall decorating! ā¤ļø
Materials
Large poster board, canvas, or wood sign (depending on how permanent you want it)
Brown acrylic paint or construction paper (for the tree trunk and branches)
Assorted fall-colored paper (orange, red, yellow, green)
Scissors
Glue or double-sided tape
Black or gold pen/marker
Optional: twine, buttons, faux leaves, or scrapbook embellishments
Steps
Create the Tree BaseĀ š³
Paint or draw a large tree trunk and branchesĀ in the center of your canvas or board.
Let kids help paint or trace the trunkāit doesnāt need to be perfect!
Make the LeavesĀ š
Cut out paper leaves in fall colors.
Give everyone a few leaves to write what theyāre thankful for.
For little ones, they can draw pictures instead of writing words.
Build the Tree TogetherĀ š
As a family, glue or tape the leaves onto the branches.
Talk about each āthankful thoughtā as you place them on the tree.
Decorate the BackgroundĀ āØ
Add faux leaves, raffia bows, or twine borders around the edges.
You can even glue small pinecones, buttons, or acorns for texture.
Add a Title
Across the top, write āOur Family Tree of Gratitude ā Fall 2025ā
Let everyone sign their names at the bottom like a family art piece!
Display
Hang it in your living room, dining area, or entryway as a reminder of blessings all season long.
