šŸ’” Grief Support Devotional – October 20 šŸ’”

ā€œThe LORD is near unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.ā€ā€”Psalm 34:18 (KJV)

When we walk through grief, it can feel like the world has moved on while our hearts remain shattered in place. The ache lingers, the memories come in waves, and sometimes it feels like no one truly understands. But God does.

He is near to the brokenhearted—not far off, not watching from a distance, but near.Ā His presence surrounds you in the quiet moments when words fail and tears fall. He gathers every tear, understands every ache, and promises to hold you close until the pain begins to ease.

Grief never fully disappears, but God teaches us to carry it differently—with His strength instead of our own. In time, He brings small glimpses of peace—a song that comforts, a memory that makes you smile instead of cry, or a sunrise that reminds you of His promises.

You are not alone in this valley. The same God who raised His Son from the grave is breathing hope into your heart today. He will not let your story end in sorrow.

Reflection for Today: Take a quiet moment to rest in His nearness. Whisper a prayer and thank God for being with you in your grief, even when words can’t come.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being close to my broken heart. When the pain feels too heavy, remind me that You are holding me. Fill me with Your peace, surround me with Your love, and help me to trust that healing will come in Your perfect time. Amen.
