Hungry for What Trult Satisfies.

**Devotional Title: "Hungering for What Truly Satisfies"**

**Scripture:**

*"Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things."*

— Philippians 3:19 (KJV)

**Reflection:**

Gluttony is more than overeating—it's a heart issue. It's when we try to fill our emptiness with food, comfort, or excess instead of turning to God. The Bible speaks plainly about those whose "god is their belly," revealing that misplaced hunger can become idolatry when we seek satisfaction in the flesh instead of the Spirit.

It's easy to justify it—"I've had a long day," "It's a celebration," or "I deserve this." But when we let anything other than Christ sit on the throne of our desires, we step out of alignment with God's best for us.

The truth is, no amount of food, pleasure, or indulgence will ever satisfy the soul like Jesus can. Gluttony leaves us stuffed yet starving. But when we turn our appetites—both physical and spiritual—toward Him, He fills us with peace, strength, and self-control.

**Prayer:**

Lord, forgive me for the times I've tried to comfort myself with things instead of coming to You. Help me surrender my cravings and seek fulfillment in Your presence. Teach me to listen to Your Spirit and walk in self-control. Let my heart hunger and thirst after righteousness, for I know You promise I will be filled. In Jesus' name, amen.

**Challenge Today:**

Every time you feel the urge to overindulge, pause and pray. Ask yourself: *"What am I really hungry for?"* Write it down. Then read Psalm 107:9—*"For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness."* Let that be your reminder that only God truly satisfies.
