đ The True Meaning of Christmas â December Bible Studyâ December 28th: Walking in Obedience and Trust
đïž Key Scripture (KJV):âTrust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.ââ Proverbs 3:5
đ Devotional Thought:
As Christmas fades into memory and the quiet days of late December settle in, God gently turns our attention toward obedience and trust.
The Christmas story itself is filled with obedience:Mary said yes without knowing all the details.Joseph obeyed Godâs direction even when it didnât make sense. The shepherds went immediately when God called.
None of them had the full pictureâbut they trusted God completely.
December 28th reminds us that faith is often lived out after the celebration, when life returns to its routines and questions linger. Obedience isnât always dramatic. Most of the time, it is quiet faithfulnessâchoosing to trust God one step at a time.
We often want clarity before obedience.God often asks for obedience before clarity.
Trusting the Lord means placing our plans, our future, and our unanswered questions into His hands. It means believing that even when we donât understand the path ahead, God does.
Christmas shows us that God keeps His promisesâeven when the journey includes uncertainty. The same God who guided Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds is guiding us today.
Walking in obedience doesnât mean we have all the answers. It means we trust the One who does.
đ Post-Christmas Reflection: Faith That Continues Forward
After Christmas, Mary and Joseph returned to everyday lifeâraising Jesus, working, traveling, and trusting God daily. The miracle didnât endâit simply continued in quiet obedience.
December 28th invites us to do the same:to carry our faith forward with trust, humility, and steady obedience.
đ Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me trust You with my whole heart.Teach me to obey You even when I donât understand the full plan.Guide my steps as I walk forward in faith, trusting that You are leading me every step of the way.
âïž Reflection Questions:
âą Where is God asking me to trust Him more fully right now?âą Is there an area of my life where obedience feels difficult or uncertain?âą How can I practice daily trust as I move into the days ahead?
