Date:Ā May 16, 2025Theme:Ā Trusting God in the Unknown Scripture Focus:
āTrust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.āā Proverbs 3:5ā6 (KJV)
š Going Deeper:
These familiar verses are more than a memory verseāthey are a daily invitation to surrender. God doesnāt ask for a portion of our trust but all of our heart. That means giving up control, letting go of our own reasoning, and choosing to follow even when we canāt see where the road leads.
Leaning on our own understanding is natural. Trusting God fully? Thatās supernatural. But when we acknowledge Himānot just in church, but in all our waysāHe doesnāt leave us guessing. He promises to lead.
⨠Word Study:
Trust (×ÖøÖ¼×Ö·× ā bÄį¹aįø„): To have confidence, to be bold, to feel secure.
Lean not: Do not rely, rest, or support yourself upon your own ideas.
Acknowledge (×Öø×Ö·×¢ ā yÄįøaŹæ): To know deeply, to recognize Godās hand in everything.
Direct (×ָשַ×ר ā yÄÅ”ar): To make straight, smooth, or right.
š£ļø Discussion Questions:
What area of your life are you struggling to trust God with right now?
In what ways are you leaning on your own understanding instead of His promises?
How can you acknowledge God more intentionally throughout your daily routines?
Can you recall a time when God clearly directed your path? What did you learn from it?
What would it look like for you to ātrust with all your heartā today?
š ļø Life Application:
Take a moment to write down the one decision or worry thatās been weighing on your heart.
Now read Proverbs 3:5ā6 slowly and speak it aloud as a declaration over that concern.
Every time anxiety rises today, whisper: āI trust You, Lordānot myself.ā
š Prayer:
Father,You are trustworthyāeven when life feels uncertain. Help me to release the grip I have on trying to figure everything out. Teach me to trust You with all of my heart. I acknowledge You in every detail, every decision, and every delay. Please make my paths straight, even when I cannot see the road ahead. In Jesusā name, Amen.
