š FALL FUN THAT DOESN'T COST A THING!
First Wednesday of September
Hello, September! ššāļø
Fall is almost here, and you don't have to spend a fortune to enjoy it!
This week's Wednesday Weekly Free ResourcesĀ is all about finding FREE places to visit and FREE fall adventuresĀ for couples, families, grandparents, and anyone who loves this beautiful season.
Grab a sweater, pack some snacks, and let's make some memories! š
š³ 1. EXPLORE A LOCAL PARK
Fall is one of the BEST times to visit your local parks.
Take a walk, enjoy a picnic, collect colorful leaves, watch the squirrels, take family pictures, or simply sit and enjoy God's beautiful creation.
š” FREE FALL IDEA:Ā Take the grandchildren on a leaf hunt and see how many different colors and shapes they can find!
š„¾ 2. FIND A FREE HIKING OR WALKING TRAIL
You don't have to be an experienced hiker!
Look for local:
š Greenwaysš„¾ Nature trailsš² Walking pathsš River walksš³ Community parks
Pack some water and enjoy the cooler temperatures and changing scenery.
š 3. VISIT A FARM OR ORCHARD
Here's something you may not realize:
Some farms and orchards allow visitors to walk around, visit their market, see the animals, take pictures, or enjoy the atmosphere without paying admission.
You only pay if you decide to purchase something.
ā ļø Always check before going because admission policies vary by farm.
š 4. LOOK FOR FREE FALL FESTIVALS
September and October are filled with community events!
Watch for:
š¶ Live musicš Tractor showsš Car showsšØ Craft demonstrationsš Fall festivalsš Harvest celebrationsšļø Heritage daysāŖ Church festivalsš Community open houses
Many offer FREE admission, even though food, rides, or vendors may cost extra.
š 5. CHECK YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY

Libraries may offer FREE:
šØ Fall craftsš Story timeš Children's activitiesš¬ Movie nightsš§© Family activitiesš Book clubsš Seasonal programs
And while you're there, pick out some cozy fall books to take home!
šļø 6. TAKE A FALL HISTORY ADVENTURE
Become a tourist in your own hometown!
Visit local:

Turn it into a family history lesson and learn something you didn't know about your own community.

You don't need an expensive camera.
Grab your phone and find:

Challenge everyone to take their favorite fall picture!
š 8. GO LEAF PEEPING!
This is one of my favorites because God puts on the show and admission is FREE!Ā ā¤ļø
Take a scenic drive when the leaves begin changing. Pack a thermos of coffee or hot chocolate and make an afternoon of it.
Remember: the best fall color may arrive later in September or October depending on where you live, so save this idea!
āŖ 9. CHECK LOCAL CHURCHES
Churches often host FREE community events during fall, including:
š Fall festivalsš Trunk-or-treat eventsš¶ Gospel singingsš½ļø Community mealsšØāš©āš§ Family nightsimageš„ Outdoor gatheringsš Revival services
It's a wonderful opportunity for fellowship while supporting your local community.
š 10. HAVE A SUNSET PICNIC
This one costs absolutely nothing if you bring supper from home.
Pack your meal, grab a blanket, find a beautiful spot, put the phones away, and watch the sunset together.
Sometimes the simplest moments become the memories we treasure most. ā¤ļø
