✂️ FREE CRAFTING & DIY CLASSES!

Learn Something New Without Spending a Fortune

Happy Wednesday, friends! 💜

Have you ever seen a beautiful quilt, wreath, crocheted blanket, painting, or handmade piece of home décor and thought:

“I wish I knew how to make that!”

Well, today's Wednesday Weekly Free Resources is for YOU!

There are wonderful places online—and sometimes right in our own communities—where you can learn a new creative skill for FREE!

🧵 LEARN TO SEW & QUILT

Whether you've never touched a sewing machine or simply want to learn a new technique, look for free lessons covering:

🪡 Sewing basics🧵 Patchwork🛏️ Quilting👗 Clothing repairs✂️ Fabric projects👜 Bags and accessories

Creativebug currently has a rotating collection of classes you can watch for free, including beginner-friendly quilting instruction.

🧶 LEARN CROCHET & KNITTING

Have you always wanted to crochet a blanket or learn how to knit?

Look for free beginner lessons teaching:

🧶 How to hold your yarn🪝 Basic crochet stitches🧣 Scarves🟨 Granny squares🧺 Home décor🎁 Handmade gifts

Don't worry about being perfect.

Everybody who crochets beautifully today once had to learn their very first stitch!

🎨 TRY PAINTING & DRAWING

You don't need to consider yourself an “artist” to enjoy creating.

Free online classes can introduce you to:

🖌️ Acrylic painting💧 Watercolor✏️ Drawing🌸 Floral art📓 Creative journaling🖼️ Mixed-media projects

Creating should be FUN!

📄 PAPER CRAFTS & SCRAPBOOKING

If you love paper, photographs and keepsakes, explore free lessons for:

📔 Scrapbooking💌 Handmade cards🌸 Paper flowers✂️ Collage📚 Memory books🎁 Gift tags and decorations

Some beautiful projects can even be created with materials you already have around the house.

♻️ UPCYCLING & THRIFTED DIY

Now THIS is one of my favorites!

Before throwing something away, ask:

“Could I turn this into something beautiful?”

Old jars, picture frames, furniture, fabric scraps, cans, baskets and thrift-store finds can become wonderful new treasures.

It's creativity AND stewardship!

🏠 DON'T FORGET YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY!

Here's a FREE resource many people overlook.

Check your local library for:

🧶 Craft groups🪡 Sewing classes🎨 Painting activities✂️ Children's crafts📚 Craft books💻 Online learning resources

And here's something REALLY interesting:

Some public libraries provide their patrons with access to online creative-learning services such as Creativebug, which offers thousands of art and craft classes.

Ask your library:

“Do you offer any free online craft-class subscriptions with my library card?”

You might be surprised by the answer!

🏪 CHECK LOCAL CRAFT STORES & COMMUNITY CENTERS

Keep an eye on:

🎨 Craft stores📚 Libraries⛪ Churches🏫 Community colleges👵 Senior centers🏛️ Community centers

Some offer free demonstrations, clubs, workshops or community craft gatherings.

Always check whether registration or materials are required before attending.

⭐ CREATIVEBUG'S FREE CLASS COLLECTION

Creativebug normally offers a paid membership, BUT they also maintain a rotating selection of classes that can currently be watched for FREE.

You'll find projects involving things like:

🧶 Crochet🪡 Sewing🧵 Quilting📄 Paper crafts🎨 Art✂️ DIY projects

Some participating public libraries also provide broader Creativebug access to their patrons.

🌻 THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE

Learn ONE NEW THING!

It doesn't have to be complicated.

Learn one crochet stitch.

Sew on a button.

Paint a flower.

Make a greeting card.

Turn an old thrift-store find into something beautiful.

Start a scrapbook.

Make something with your grandchildren.

You don't have to be an expert to create. You just have to be willing to try.

And remember—homemade doesn't have to mean perfect.

Sometimes the little imperfections are what make something uniquely ours. ❤️

📖 Scripture for the Week

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” — Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
