✍️ Author’s Daily Devotional – October 12, 2025 Theme: Writing with Purpose Title: When God Edits Your Story Scripture: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”—Romans 8:28 (KJV)
Devotional: Every author understands the challenge of editing—a process that cuts, reshapes, and refines. Sometimes, it’s hard to let go of sentences or scenes we’ve grown attached to. But in the end, every edit brings clarity and purpose.
God works the same way with our lives and our writing. He’s the Master Editor, shaping every experience—both joyful and painful—into something that serves His greater story. What you see as a detour or deletion, He sees as divine redirection.
When you surrender your story to Him, He refines it with love. Even the hardest chapters can become testimonies of His grace. Your life—and your writing—are in His capable hands.
So today, trust God with the edits. Let Him remove what doesn’t fit His plan and polish what reflects His glory. The story He’s crafting through you is far more beautiful than you could write on your own.
Reflection Prompt: Where might God be “editing” your life or writing right now, and how can you trust Him in that process?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being the Author and Finisher of my faith. Help me to trust You with every edit and revision in my story. Refine my words and my heart until both reflect Your purpose and glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
